I like that analogy - Hocky is just violent Golf on meth!Niall wrote:Osmo C wrote:By creating what amounts to an airsoft league, would it become more like- dare I say- paintball?
Yes, as an example, forming a Hockey League, it made it just like golf.
A perfect example of that - different teams use different FPS limits. And how would someone un-affiliated with a team get a voice on the 'League Council' or whatever - its not practical for everyone to mouth off with their view on any particular issue.Nightshade wrote:We tried to form an APL (Airsoft Pacific League) years ago, but it kept falling through. Some people wanted things done one way and others wanted it done another way. The infighting and bullshit eventually led to us all saying, "f**k it, let's just do it the way we were".
Joe Bob from Team Douche will still show up, and accuse everyone of being hackers, because they're not calling their hits. Or Joe Bob will be the hacker who somehow managed to sit on a hill full of red ants . . . . . during a rain storm . . . . and ruin the event for someoneDantes wrote:This is why it's my opinion that there shouldn't be a league council. Somebody should just start a league. Get a shitload of money, get a shitload of sponsors, get playfields and venues all over the country, have a totally kick a$$ marketing team, have expert planned competitions and mil-sim events. Make it so effin kick a$$ that everybody will want to participate.
Now, after you've spent all that money, and all that time, do you really want Joe Bob from Team Douche to sit on a council and tell you how to run your show? I doubt it. But there's nothing wrong with feeling that way. If you're providing people with a service that they WANT that BENEFITS them, more power to ya!
