Mostly soap-box ranting about Charlie and his borderline fanciful replica performance, and how ridiculously unsafe it is - let alone the fact that he is pushing for an exception to a rule that is, itself, a rare exception.
If it's a true statement of performance - his M14 is almost 150fps over it's category limit. Assuming he doesn't have a physical Semi-auto only limit in place - Mosfet programming is not generally considered a hard-limit where DMR use is concerned. If it is infact setup for FULL DMR classification including physical Semi-auto limitation, then he is still nearly 70 FPS over the limit.
The argument that he should be allowed to use it under the Bolt-Action limit is just nonsense. Why can't I used my M249 @ 549fps? Can't we just call it a bolt action if I only tap out one BB every second? Ridiculous.
I understand the desire to include as many players as possible - even to the point of fudging the limit maybe 5fps over to allow someone to play that otherwise wouldn't - but this well beyond a little wiggle room.
I'm not saying he needs to get rid of his gun, or even downgrade it. If it really does perform the way he says it does - it's a pretty beast gun with a lot of time and/or money invested in it. (Or it's gonna implode REALLY fast under the stress!) But lots of folks here have 2 or more 'Primary' weapons to suit the event limit. Field limit 400fps and say, a CQB safe 300fps gun.
At it's heart - our hobby and our community is about honor. Most strive to work within the rules. From his first post on the forums on, Charlie seems hell-bent on circumventing them.
SO - all that said - much more nicely this time

- I also wanted say I haven't had a chance to play out at Splat Action yet, so I'm excited to see the opportunity coming back around from you guys! Seems like it's shaping up to be good stuff!
*Edit Again!*
The more I think about it, the more it really feels like he's just trolling - terribad grammar and all.
With all the pretty flowers and twigs in your ghillie.. perhaps you should take up gardening?
