Contrary to what ASGI and Evike say, this is not the beginning of the "national ban" on airsoft. All that will happen is that it will make it harder for kids to get airsoft guns, since you'd have to basically order them from Asia. That could be a good or bad thing, depending on who you're talking to.
Second, the current bill would not make airsoft guns "illegal", they'd just make them be multicolored (like the guns belonging to minors in the UK).
Third, this bill hasn't passed the first three or four times. I doubt it'll pass this time.

A. They no longer work for the state, or
B. Some mutation of this bill is passed.
That's what I mean. Go to him and present him with a new thing, that puts more responsibility on parents and retailers. Raise fines on retailers selling guns to minors, on or off the internet. Raise fines for parents who let their little dipshits run around the neighborhood shooting each other. Give officers the ability to confiscate airsoft guns and slap the parents with citations.
That way, both parties win. We get something not intrusive, that might make an actual dent in parents letting their kids do dumb shit, and the politicians get to preen about how they were "tough" something.
Of course that may just be wishful thinking...
