Re: Vigilant Wind (JOTC Mission 001) We are Go for the missi

Postby 'Skyhawk' » Fri Mar 30, 2012 8:46 pm

Things to remember:

We are going to be on public land. I have authorization for us to play here and I want to see nothing but the upmost respect for the land we have the privilage of using. BIO AMMO ONLY. Tread lightly and pick up and pack out all of your trash. This is amazing land. It is wild and undeveloped. There are not many roads or maintained trails. Stay in groups and pay attention to where you are. We don't want anyone lost up there. I will conduct a pre game tour of the field so you all can see the layout. I would also urge you to bring a radio and a compass.

We have Verizon service and GPS throughout the field!

It's wet and cold up there you will be much happier if you bring:
1. Water Proof boots.
2. Water Proof gloves.
3. Gortex camo.
4. Food.
5. Extra Batteries.

Stand By.....

Sorry but I can't make it. I go to test my magazines this morning and they are all broken, so I have no working weapon. Spent two hours trying to make them work, but no luck. Really pissed because I was looking forward to playing today.

Awesome good times. This is a really great spot for playing at. Terrain doesn't kill you, flora doesn't kill you, and really not hard to get to.

Thanks again guys!

Good times today.

Field was decent, but at the cost of being free there will be no complaints from me.

I would've liked to see more games with the plutonium thingy, since that was a pretty cool prop you guys made and the first game ended more quickly than I thought it would.

Good time overall, would like to do it again soon.

Big thanks and huge respect to everyone that made it out today! You all showed a huge amount of toughness in a ruged area with less than perfect conditions. Thanks also for the patience. I had a great time and will continue to refine things to make it even more fun and challenging! Stand by for the next mission...

So the Terrorists have been defeated and the Plutonium has been recovered by the JOTC forces. Humanity is spared from a huge dirty bomb attack for the moment. But we all know they will strike again.....Stand By.......

Brown team went on to some well played wins during capture the flag after the OP. I saw some great play out there today. People diving, rolling, crawling, falling. Well played everyone!

I think my only suggestion for that field (if you choose to use it again) would be to go out and mark out the playing area you want to allow the use of for the game you are running. Being wooded like it is, it was pretty easy to get slightly disoriented where you were, and wander off the intended playing field, since there isn't any real way to know where it is without playing the area a lot. Maybe just do orange tape around a tree every 20' or so to mark your intended boundry and then you have a defined area that no one can get lost in (unless they really really suck at paying attention), and then you can make maps to give people a rough idea of what is going on, to avoid needing to walk people around.

Very wise of you to walk us around a bit though, I have a feeling we would have lost a few people otherwise.

Great fun though, definitely a great turnout for a free game with such horrible weather forecast too! The sun peeked out at the end though, and it really didn't rain much, so once again, anyone that bailed because they thought it was going to be snowing a foot an hour, you missed out. :)
