First... for all the birthday well wishes, a sincere and heartfelt Thank You! And to whoever remembered I am a Single Malt Man...again, Thank You!
On to the game. To the posts commending the admin staff as being professional, competent etc...Thank You! But you were also right... there were nowhere near, enough of us. I saw and heard that comment several times, and it is duly noted.
Second, there was come confusion over vehicle rules and such...I think we as admins did not anticipate all the possible things that can happen with vehicles...how the crew interacts and what they can and cannot do, what kills a vehicle etc. So I would have to say there will be more clear vehicle briefings in the future, with a more specific set of rules.
For this many players on the field, I felt the majority did a good job of keeping things clean. I did hear some bitching about hacking etc... Though there were few isolated incidents, most of what I saw was not hacking, but rather intense, aggressive game play.
The players that did come forward with issues or questions did so respectfully and conscientiously...and followed the direction given...thanks for that. Case in point were the players involved in the Log Fort incident at the end of the day. I know you guys were all hot under the collar. Tim and I did our best to mediate a potentially nasty situation, as you all had valid defensible points. From a players perspective, I could have argued either side. From the admins perspective, we were screwed! Whatever decision we made would piss someone off...and probably did! But you guys swallowed the anger and abided by our decision and everyone moved on. Kudos!
Finally, it seemed as if all involved hung in until the end...I saw a lot of tired draggity-assed players at the days end, and that is a good thing! That means you were playing hard.
Thanks to Rick and my fellow admins...it seemed a little strange to not be playing, but is was a fun day all the same!
Victory through stealth, and disciplined aggression.
