Here's a quick AAR of the 3 scenarios we ran:
Vehile Check Point
Objective: Teams were to search 2 vehicles for possible IED's and/or weapons that may be smuggled into the town of Marsha.
Observations: The 1st two teams (Navy SeALS & NATO SF) didn't find the IED in the 1st car. They did find the AK in my car but I
did have a permit for it. They didn't really question why I had body armor or lots of radios though. The Rangers were very suspicious starting with the 1st vehicle, immediately detained us & called in EOD (they didn't want to risk setting off a possible IED themselves). Kind of rough on me, an old man though.
Knock & Talk
Objective: FOB Striker is being harassed by mortars possibly coming from or near the village of Tufa. Meet the village elders & determine where mortar attacks are coming from.
Observations: the SeALS and Rangers made it a point to set up a positive rapport with me (the village elder) as well as the local police officer. When my son showed signs of illness (appendicitis) they offered medical assistance in exchange for information. NATO SF threw in a curveball with a dedicated translator (coming into the village unarmed no less) but took more of a demanding, authoritative tone with me. When they tried disarming the police officer unexpectedly things went south quickly & all the villagers were detained. They probably would have gathered intel after interrogating the detainees, but I think their show of excessive force makes any future contact with the villagers difficult.
Raid on Mortar Position
Objective: Approach suspected mortar position, engage any enemy combatants, then destroy/recover enemy armaments.
Observations: Here everybody got some trigger time in. Us insurgents were in 1 building eating dinner when the raid went down but we scattered throughout the village. All teams did well (I was about to surrender to the NATO SF when I got injured but took a round to the face

), but since the Rangers had the manpower they were able to pull off a successful assault with flanking attack on the village.
I wish we got more actors for this, but I'm happy with what we were able to do to make this a great time. Seems that everybody that came out to a surprisingly nice day enjoyed themselves. Thanks to Seagreen, Jerm_G, Crimmins & any other BSP guys for hosting this, as well as the other actors that helped make the scenarios interesting for the players. Thanks to Bigfoot for taking pics (where's the pictures of me?

) and of course, all the guys that came out for a nice little game of military LARPing.
