Go to maps.google.com and enter "45.380429,-121.874784" in the search box. It will give you a location, then click directions and put your starting point as "A" and it will map the way for ya. ;-)

30-40

We'll be doing mainly squad based activities, so we'll be in the shape of 3-4 squads for the weekend. You'll be with 1/1 and Android.

GETSUM!

Very nice work this weekend you guys. Sweaty, raining, and getting shot by BB's and learning some really cool stuff and playing in one of the best fields out there ended up for a brilliant weekend.

Attendance was rather low that usual, but people are not wanting to camp and the weather kicked in a bit.

More to follow!

I personally think the rain was awesome. It created a feel that was very awesome.

Anyway, I had a blast. Best airsoft event I've been to so far.

Thanks for coming out everyone!

I am glad we're finally at a point where we can have multiple squads and elements moving around using radios to receive instructions and plotting points and using compass to navigate around a square kilometer field. GOTSUM!

Twas pretty awesome...except the part where you were purposefully screwing over 1/3 :P. But that is okay, we know you had to even up the odds somehow!

For those interested in coming out with us some time, here's a bit of what we did and what CAG is about:

Day 1 we really hit the LANDNAV (Land navigation) hard, learning how to read a map, a compass and a protractor. We had our big whiteboard out and had some classroom instructed, by our beloved ODA315 (Former Green Beret):
Image

Phoenix was kind enough to help me plot out a 10-point Compass Course that filled approximately one square kilometer, even going so far as to use 100m twine to ensure proper distance (which can be hard in thick woods):

Then we handed out maps and did some PEs (practical exercises) and found our pace counts, USGS maps and protractors were given to everyone, though in future practice, we'll cut down on costs by only giving them to pace men / compass men / Squad Leaders:

We ended Day 1 with some basics about the standard drills for airsoft infantry: React to Contact, React to Near Ambush, Break Contact and Squad Assault. Then camped and ate weiners.

Day 2 was a complete day of having three elements move from point to point and practice land nav, commo and battle drills. GOTSUM!

BTW all PLA/CAG: New Patches are in!!!!1!

Thanks for the picture credit, I didn't realize you managed to get a picture of that madness. Ironically, that picture makes it look easy, because it doesn't show the huge overturned root wall I had to go over, or the 6-8 foot drops into a mess of logs that were waiting me if I slipped as I was stringing that out. At least this one was the hardest. All in the name of getting 100M of line straight from one spot to another.
