why do i see this as possibly ending very badly, men running around right next to a large airport with assault style weapons.
They said they've been playing there for almost 2 years and only had the cops come once. even that they couldnt do much because it is a unactive park so it is legal to play there.

Not sure you'll find a whole lot up North of Seattle, most of the GOOD fields are south of Seattle, unfortunately. Also check out www.1st-sword.com, they put on the best events this side of Vancouver, in my opinion. There are more, Team Tacoma, the guys down in Olympia, but now you're getting further and further out from your location. But trust me, some things are worth the drive.
