I have only two gripes I had about this game. Yes, there was cheating (on both sides) but I never saw it being the huge deal that a lot of people are making it out to be. Maybe everywhere I go my inspiring prescence makes people follow the rules. Maybe it's because I just wasn't paying attention. Who knows? I saw very little hacking on the Taliban side, and almost none on our side. As far as honor goes, I think this was one of the better games.
1. We didn't start on time (as if we ever do), then we had to pull back to the parking lot after round one for some clarification. I understand WHY we did it, but the fact that we had to kind of irks me.
2. The second is that for whatever reason, both times that my platoon started in Field One we started receiving fire BEFORE the horn. BOTH times. Even the time RIGHT AFTER Zeus explained that you have to wait for the siren.
Taliban, from my vantage point this is what I saw your weaknesses were:
1. Organization. In our team forum we lined out who was with that team, what platoon they were in, what squad they were in. Then during our briefing we all lined up in our squads and platoons, had the PLs and the SLs introduce themselves. That way even the attachments who hadn't played with us before knew who their commanders were. This allowed for easy communication on the field. "Echo Platoon, Second Squad, move left!" and BAM... we were rolling left. I didn't just see this in Echo platoon but with ALL of the platoons on our side.
2. Force size. Until we hit major villages or towns, we only ever encountered 6 - 8 guys at a time. Since we were moving in large, 45-man elements, it made sweeping you guys aside fairly easy.
3. Medics. As previously pointed-out, your units hardly ever used your medics. If they did, it was easy to pick off the runners since they were given no covering fire. This led to a giant cluster of Taliban with red rags on their heads. This was MOST prevalent to me during the assault on "The Village" in the first mission.
Thank you to:
- Dunecorps for holding on to the top of Hamburger Hill for all of that time, regardless of the amount of fire you were receiving. When some of us from Echo platoon finally got there, you guys were COVERED in bandages. Literally, their upper chests and arms were covered in bandages they had received from the aid station. I'm sure a lot of the "hacking" calls from the "ACU wearing faggots" (Dunecorps, mainly) is because of this battle. I was impressed with your ability to dig in like ticks and not give an inch while still remaining upbeat. I can easily see you guys becoming one of the premier teams in the NW with a little more time and effort.
- Whoever the guys in tigerstripe were that flanked the Taliban position on Hamburger Hill just prior to us moving up. That was an excellent stroke of luck that our attacks happend at the same time, the Talis had no idea what to do or how to counter that. Excellent work.
- Also the people on Hamburger Hill who weren't getting angry with me when I was literally picking some of your up and throwing you into the assault. It wasn't personal, and it paid off.
- The mofos who were with me for that first suicide charge on The Village in round one. I fully expected to get reamed but we ended up getting a foothold there and eventually taking it. Awesome work.
- Of course, thanks to our sponsors and Angelo for putting this all on.
- Thank you to the people who followed mine and Postman's instructions on how and where to park. Having all of you guys there was a logistical nightmare, but you helped it to go smoothly. In fact, the only person we had any issues with was one of the teenagers who expected us to somehow know that he worked there without communicating that fact to us.
