JustinWang wrote:Hey all,

I used to play airsoft out in Vernonia like 4 years ago and have since been gone to college. I'm back now and found your website. I'm planning on going and I have read all your posts and the whole website about AP waivers, Safety Rules, but I have a few questions.

1. Posted are some requirements for gear such as M4 or M16 variant guns, camo fatigues, patches etc. Do I need to have all the crap or is that only if your an official AP member. I have an AK and I wear a black vest with generally brown pants and boots. Got a boon hat too. Of course I'm bringing the food, water, and sleep stuff too.

2. It is ambiguous as to the eyewear. It says always wear eye protection goggles, masks, or shooting glasses... Must meet ANZI something standards and wrap around face. I was looking at pictures and it appears that nobody wears a wrap around the face. So I just have some safety glasses/ Shooting glasses that have been proven. Is that enough?

I doubt this is the thread to introduce your self, but welcome to AP read the stickies :!: heck read EVERYTHING thats what I did ;)

Bring something that will not get crushed, ir if it does it will not make a mess.
You will be moving quite a bit. Think low salt, high cal. not overly filling, easy to carry.
More important than food is water. Bring water it is going to be REALLY HOT!

The person that forgets water can be the one that carts around the 9 Gal. jug I am bringing. :)

KI113R, I am bringing a hydration pack with just a few powerbars. If you bring some powerbars or something small and lightweight you can put in the pack.

alrigh t cool, but now i have the problem with...... boots.... unfortunatly enough i don't have any high-ankle hiking boots, and my parents refuse to go out to buy any because we have "enough" they say. i have some low-ankle hiking boots that are alittle supportive on your ankles. but I am wearing an ankle brace on my right ankle anyways because its my bad ankle i just strained and twisted all wierd while pitching last week. so, i will have that on. Can i just let the other ankle be as it is?

You are 13, wear what you can. But I suggest you save your pennies and get good boots, when you tripple your age you will thank me.

Bad boots will make your feet go to crap. If you want to still be walking at my age, get good boots.

No, its not that.. they're very good expensive hiking boots. They just don't go all the way up to completly cover my ankles. so my feet won't go to crap.
