Skirmish: Fear That - Lost in the Woods

Postby Niall » Sat Jun 10, 2006 6:30 am

In the tradition of 'Fear This I' and 'Kill some Russians'

The 937th OSK Presents:
Fear That I
Image
Who: Lawdy-Dawdy All of Ya'll!
Where: Donnahue Creek (OSK Field)
What: Fear That
When: Saturday, June 24th 2006 0930-1600
Why: Shoot that other guy! (937th OSK SRC Test Phase III)

Teams will be split into two sides.

Phase 1: Set up defensive line, await link-up of local guide.
Phase 2: Guide will inform 'Leader' of local enemy situation and terrain.
Phase 3: Movement to contact, Kill people!
Phase 4: Each side will attempt to move to a pickup point alive.
Phase 5: Talk a bunch of chit about how hard the field was.

There will be two Scout/Recon teams, Each will be assigned to a side.
The Scouts being tested will be required to pass through enemy lines and make contact with friendly forces.

The attached scouts will guide your teams until contact is made and try to stay alive until the objective is taken and held. At a designated time you will be guided to a designated Pickup zone... If you can keep your scouts alive!

Scouts should not initiate contact at any time. They may use fire to cover escape. Your scout's life is important, if they get killed, you will be lost.

As before, it must be stated: THIS IS AN ADVANCED FIELD!
This Skirmish will rely on your guides to get you off the field alive. (For real and simulated)

Respawn will be made only if contact is broken and the entire unit is doing a Reconsolidate/Reorganize.

AT NO TIME will you move on this field alone! Bring anything you may need as if you were going to have to stay there over night.
Carpool if you can, there will be limited parking.

Edit: There will not be a shuttle from the parking area. We will be walking out.

DIRECTIONS:

Option A: I-84 to Corbett Exit, follow signs to Corbett. Left on Scenic Highway.
After signs for "Portland Women's Forum" there will be a split off for Larch Mtn. Rd. on the Right. Take it.
Shortly after Mile Marker 6 on Larch Mtn Road there will be the first Parking area.
* On the lower field.

Option B: I-84 to Exit 17, Take a Right at the Flying J. Go up the hill... No, keep going up the hill! At Stark take a left. When you cross the bridge take a right follow the Scenic Highway.
After signs for "Portland Women's Forum" there will be a split off for Larch Mtn. Rd. on the Right. Take it.
Shortly after Mile Marker 6 on Larch Mtn Road there will be the first Parking area.
* On the lower field.

And, because someone will ask...

GPS DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN NOT GET LOST!!!

This is not an over night event, but any time people come to this field they need to have any gear they may need as if they were going to get lost.

Due to some issues seen Sunday. Each person coming on to the field will bring the following:

1 qt. of water (1 standard US Canteen) or equivalent in sport drink.
1 Cold Weather Item (Jacket, raincoat, poncho, space-suit)
Proper footwear (Must have ankle support)
Food

Suggested packing list (You will have this if not stupid):

2 qts of water.
1 Cold Weather Item (Jacket, raincoat, poncho, space-suit)
Boots
1 full meal

In addition, I need one person that is willing to assist admin (Must be REALLY GOOD at land Nav.)

Prizes: Maybe, if someone truly excels there is a good possibility that they will be given recognition in the form of material award. (No tool, you can't win again... Unless.)

Do you call your hits?
Do you follow the rules?
Do you do what you are told to do by those appointed above you?

If you said 'No' to any of the above you are restricted.

Age does not matter to me as long as you have an AP waiver on file so that I know Mommy and Daddy say it is OK. And there is an adult(s) appointed above you on your team.

The answer to all those is yes. I always call my hits because i do not believe in unfair games. I always follow rules no matter how much i disapprove of them. And i give all members of AP 100% of my trust. I have not met most of you but i can tell you guys aren't crazy rapists... But, back to what i was saying, yes i follow all those rules.. And where will I get a waiver? because i don't have one on file but my parents are fine with me going.

Hmmm, if you read the rules you would know where the waiver is...

I'll probably be the person that gets lost in the woods.

Sounds fun, I'll try to make it.
