We are moving KP48 to a Vaughn, WA. We have secured the entire field and it will be closed to the public. The date will remain the same. THERE WILL BE AN EVENT SIZE LIMIT! Those who are pre-registered are confirmed but please contact us if you cannot make a Washington Area of Operations so that others who have not confimed can register. We have about 15 open spots left.

While US Forces were able to dominate at the orginal operation they sustained massive losses due to radiation poisoning and were forced to exfil the area without recovering any of the data on the radiation shielding technology. The United States had assumed that the other combatants in the area suffered a similar fate and the army retained several privately contracted firms to begin work on a similar project entitled: KP48.

It turned out that not everyone was wiped out when the shielding technology system failed. In fact, the Russians had sabotaged the power thus causing the system failure. They had obtained a working version of the portable shielding device . While the Russian scientists did not make it out alive during Kitty Paws 24 - the Russians operatives in the area were able to secure enough of their work to start up the project again. With a semi-working shielding device intact, the Russians moved.

Now the US Army has been called again to secure the technology. With a working proto-type of a US developed shielding technology, a special Task Force has been assembled to move into the area and recover or destroy the project! This time, the Russians are ready and the battlefield will be marred with radiation pockets.

Eh, I don't understand why people aren't willing to pay that much for a three day event. I mean, I can understand a lot of the younger players that may not have that kind of money coming in even in three months, but any halfway dedicated adult airsofter that has a job should be able to pull that much cash out of their a$$ for an event like this. Hell, sell some gear if you have to. I really think that having Splat Action secured for this is a must, cause there are so many strategically important areas that makes for intense play

For me, it was about getting 3 days away from the family in the heart of summer. I have not one single solitary issue about spending even double that for a 3 day game with Battlesim.
Please buy your gear from Rick Fisher; perhaps he can buy a Life.

Since you're just rolling in the money, why didnt you come out to the Swap Meet/Barbeque/Pumpkin Planting last weekend? There were a number of people ready, willing, and able to sell airsoft related products. I dont remember seeing your face there.

Hellmutt - Im sad to see you cancel/move your event, but I can understand why you're doing it.

Money is only a small piece of the puzzle. Time is a much bigger piece.
Us "halfway dedicated adult airsofters" have family, job, and household responsibilities to worry about. We don't get summer vacations to lounge around and do whatever we want.
I would have no problem paying $60 for a well organized event if I had the time and I was halfway sure that the younglings would actually play the full game. The last 2 events at Splat Action fell into a free-for-all after only a couple of hours. Unfortunately I will never be able to play an entire weekend of airsoft cause believe it or not I like seeing my wife once in awhile.

Point of view from a relatively new player:

One day away from the family is about all my friends and I can justify at a time - there's just so much else going on in the summer. With that in mind we viewed KP48 as $45 for a day's play, which is quite steep in my book. However, we still ended up pre-registering.

My friends and I really wouldn't mind sharing portions of the field with paint-ballers. The place is quite large and I could see this working if we were able to get several contiguous sections down at the bottom. It seemed like there were several areas that really didn’t get utilized during the last two major events.

However, many thanks go out to Helmutt for taking the time to organize all of this, I’m still holding out hope that something can be put together. I have five friends with new ICS M4’s that are itching to try them out.

My two cents,
Matkin

Hellmutt puts on a damn great game. I was at KP 24 and it was in my opinion the best game last year.

Jason, how about OP Jolly's basement? Sorry to hear that the Field fees are going to jack the deal so bad.

Fkly I would not mind paying a fee comparable to the one for GS-2. The field isn't as cool as hole in the wall but still. for a 3 day op at Splat actio I would drop $85 if it is on par with GS-2 and KP-24.

Eh, I was just looking forward to the event, cause I had heard of KP24, and thought it would be kickass to have KP48 at Splat Action. I guess I may be a little biased as well, as SA is in my town

Thanks to those who said nice things. I appreciate it and I am working hard on another location. We have a bunch of options, they are broken into a couple of categories:

1. MOVE EVENT DATE AND LOCATION

2. MOVE EVENT LOCATION

We have alternate locations in Washington and Oregon each with it's own advantages and disavantages. So if people want something to interact on rather then focusing on the money and what not - what would be better? Changing the Date and the Location or just the Location? Also, what state would be a better location Washington or Oregon?

The OP Signal Test field looked pretty sweet. The one with all the cell towers.

( That the right OP name? )

EDIT: I used this cool thing called Search....and it said that is the correct field and OP name.

That was it. Unfortunately that venue is not large enough to host more then a 50 player game at max!
