Reinforcing Jester's post ... Please sign up and participate in the private FB groups for your team. A lot of important information will be shared via these groups that will not be on this AP forum or shared at the event. It does not matter if your a single player or part of a team, you will benefit by participating.

NATO only has 37% of its team as members on it's Facebook Group, I would really like to see this be closer to 70%.

So with their being indoor (cqb) does that mean 350fps for assault aegs or 400fps because of the outdoor?

Couple quick questions.

Will the SAW's be allowed at night? (I know it's says no in the book, wasn't sure with this AO, tracers and such)

For LMG's/HMG's that have no semi-auto setting, are players allowed to do small bursts indoors, as long as they're at a safe distance? (50?, is any of those buildings even that big inside on a straight shot? The church maybe, anything else?)

And does anyone know where to get CHEAP bio glow rounds?

Ryan Eckman - Dolphin - OPFOR Assault
Chris Eckman - Zevian - OPFOR Assault

I will be attending and my brother is 100% as long as work doesn't come up.

Generally it is semi only indoors so the 400 is acceptable. Try to aim for the body and not the face, obviously.

However, in my experience at this field, there isn't much shooting in the actual buildings if you know what you're doing. Invest in thunder Bs.

In my experience there is no full auto in the buildings, so no LMGs/MMGs shooting in buildings, only out/into. None of hte buildings are big enough for a 50ft rule or even the need.

Please don't forget to sign up for the private forums. NATO is happy to have an extra 3 people. Opposing Forces is running right at about 50% participation/people signed up for the private group. I would love to get EVERYONE in there. We are currently forming our squad structures, and if you don't want to be assigned to a random squad of booger pickers and tree humpers, get on in there and let me know!

This being my first event like this I could use a little advice. I know lunch and dinner will be provided and I woud bring some type of bars, but what do you guys bring for breakfast? A 1200 calorie MRE seems a bit overboard. Also do I need my own water? I have no idea what I'm doing and outside of my airsoft specific gear I dont know what I need besides a sleeping bag and mat, spare clothes, and... and I don't know. Any advice helps.

While this is from Milsim West, it is a good list of gear to bring to the field for this kind of operation. Some of these things can be left out, but it's a really good list for inclusive packing for events where you are camping in the field and don't have ready access to your vehicles.

Many of us forgo the MREs and go with freeze dried stuff. Mountain House is decent and available at most stores(Freddies, Winco, Walmart, etc). Just need to boil water. Otherwise, random bullshit snacks. At the 48hr events I've been to, I generally only eat breakfast and dinner(and I'm a fatty). The rest of the day is just random shit like clif bars or whatever. I find most people end up eating at these ops during any kind of downtime just to be doing something.

Otherwise, bring a light source and there are no lights in the buildings(but there are street lights throughout the MOUT site) and whiskey/beer.

Here are some pictures of all the shit I took to the last 48hr MSW event I went to in February. At those events you're out in the field the whole time and have to carry in and back out all your shit so you pack a little lighter than something like this.

(Edit: found my layout pictures from this event with everything noted...)

Image

1 - Extra bladder
2 - Alice Medium Ruck sack(I've changed all the "buckles" over to fastex clips)

14 - Jet boil stove
15 - plastic utensils from take out. oh yeahhh
16 - Mountain house freeze dry(Haven't been to the store yet, so there will be more. I will have x4 entrees and x2 breakfasts. I usually always bring extra and have leftovers)
17 - Instant coffee, cream, sugar
18 - canteen
19 - mini tripod for spotting scope*
20 - Spotting scope*
21 - Military sleep system. Intermediate bag and bivy
22 - Sleep pad cut down to fit inside bivy
Also, poncho that is under all this, a polypro top, and a ECWCS Fleece jacket.

*I have a few extra things that really aren't needed but may be useful.

Missing from photo: More food, AAA/CR123 batteries, fuel for stove, random "snacks", paracord, and entrenching tool(in the mail).

I'll probably pack the same for this event(except different uniform/PC) + wet weather gear and booze.

Edit, Jester posted the pack list that my above is based off.
Get that together and you're good to go for MSW events in the future as well.
