Had the time of my life out there! Thanks to all the Admins! Very funny and cool straight to the point guys! My favorite was the convy game! Definitly a game to continue doing! Felt bad for tagging Shortbus in the ear a couple times! Also loved running with F.O.A.D cant wait to become a patch member and do this over again next year!!!

P.S Anybody know where to find all the pictures for the weekend! thanks!

Place holder for my longer post I'll write in the morning.

We will post a link to all our photos in the next few days. If other people can do the same (flicker, photobucket, imgur,...) that would be fantastic.

Good times this weekend. Being that SS is geared towards promoting the game towards the newer players, I saw some encouraging things from them. I expected to be fairly busy admining lots of comaints of hacking, or attitudes, or spawn camping, etc.. But, I was pleasantly surprised at how minimal it was this year, and how receptive to suggestion, or direction they were.
Thanx to all the sponsors for coming out and making this years raffle, and swap meet so succesful.
Thanx to Phantom Fury for helping us out this year. You guys were a huge help, and were greatly appreciated!
Thanx to FOAD for helping the newer players to get their bearings, and teaching them some of the basics of positive play.
Thanx to EVERYBODY that helped to make sure we could get to the guys that had issues with the heat, or injuries that needed tending.
And last but not least, thanx to all who stayed for the Sunday games, cleaned up your own garbage(and some other peoples), and shot the LIVING S..T out of me during the convoy game. It was a blast, and I fully expect to see more of that game in the future. I had at least 30 BB's fall out of my clothes when I got off the quad! Looking forward to seeing y'all out there at other games with my Specdet brothers, so I can properly exact some REVENGE!!! :)

I had a good time, even though I only played the saturday sector-control game (until I got so hot I pulled myself out, just to be safe) and the first part of the night game (I pulled a hamstring trying to get myself out of a blackberry bush I decided to take cover in). I guess I'm getting older.

Great to see old friends and putz about. Sorry more of my team didn't show up.

We had a Great Time ... I know it was really hot but the tempers in the parking lot were not. Thanks to everyone for not giving us, "The Parking Lot Guys" a hard time.

See you on the field!

SUMMER SLAUGHTER 5 PHOTOS

Thanks for taking photos, Jester. Some of the ones you took are the best action shots to ever be taken of my friends and I. Also, thank you and the rest of SpecDet for hosting this event again. It was a blast as always!

The question is, did Abe try to beat up someone's dad again this year?! ;)

Once again, that was an awesome summer slaughter! We are also sad more of DRAT couldn't be there, but it was still a properly awesome weekend. We shot a lot of footage, and it should be posted in here shortly after being thrown together.

Alright. I've had a couple days to digest SS:V and compose my thoughts.

First, I want to thank all the sponsors. It was great to have all the donations we did. I honestly can not remember a raffle that had that many high price items in it. It's great to see the faces of everyone who wins. Even the Airsplat gift bags were great to be able to give out.

Second: I want to thank Phantom Fury. This is the first year we've had a team be a sponsor, and they helped out dramatically. They did a fantastic job with the parking, and helping keep people going. I look forward to working with them again.

I would also like to clarify some issues that I've heard:

1)Short game play: I have heard that some people were upset with the amount of game play that was offered. They felt that they were being shorted for only having the one long game Saturday morning. The reason we didn't have a second long game Saturday afternoon was simply due to the heat. We had 7 heat casualties Saturday during the shooting course/sniper hunt/attack&defend time. I know wholeheartedly that number would have been worse if we had been doing a full out game. One of those casualties was about 5 minutes from taking an ambulance ride. While we want to provide as much trigger time as possible, it is also our responsibility as event host to keep people safe.

2)Not sticking to the posted schedule. Anyone who has hosted an event (airsoft or otherwise) know that time tables are fickle things. As much as you want to stay to it, little things stack up and throw it off. We had numerous issues that compounded and threw off the time table. We will be working on this for next years event. Again, we are sorry for not sticking to the posted time table.

Alright, now that that is out of the way, I would like to thank all the players who came out. We host this event to bring the community together and have fun. From the people I talked to, I think we provided a fun atmosphere, innovative games, and a great swap meet culture.

Ok. TLDR: If you have any suggestions or complaints you would like to share, please don't hesitate to PM me. I just cleared out my messages and am waiting for the flood.

I'm sure you know my feedback already, but maybe just a few simple rules for the shoot course. (Start line, starting gun position, semi/full auto, pistol vs rifle, etc...)

Easily one of the highlights of Saturday for me though, even in the form it was in. I usually compete against myself anyway, so it's not a big deal...

(I lie. I secretly wanted to get close to Scarecrow's awesome time.)
