So im thinking of getting a new sniper. Its only around 200 but the problem is it shoots 845 fps. Its co2 and needs a rifle scope for it. Should i get it or would i not be able to use it?

Why get it? If you need it then just buy it for a mantle piece. I'm just shaking my head trying to figure out why on earth you would want to buy a gun then some how modify it to shoot 300 fps lower. PLUS it's a CO2 which I don't think is legal as well for a sniper gun. Sounds like you might be spending more money then you should OR you could buy a boneyard sniper gun and get a PDI hop up unit, zero trigger and a longer TBB.

I did a little digging (google is your friend). The one I think you are talking about is from Amazon through Air Rattle inc. They claim that FPS with .12 bb's. with .2 its around 650 fps. And yea, I can see the allure of that, but when you get it I think I can safely say that you will regret it since you could never use it at any field. Unless your buying it to shot pop cans to death, then go for it!

Most games follow AP's FPS limits. Bolt action sniper rifles are limited to 550 FPS for safety reasons. There are some velocity reducers that screw on to like a flash hider, but some events don't allow them, as they can be removed after you've gone through chrono. I've never heard of ANY game allowing that high of FPS. I would look for a different gun if you've got your heart set on playing in the sniper role.
Seeing your age, and number of posts I'm assuming you're new to airsoft. There are a lot of newbies that think the sniper role is what they want to do. I would suggest getting a good electric gun first. Sniping in airsoft is NOT like Call of Duty. To be an effective sniper in airsoft, you need lots of patience, low expectations of a high kill ratio, and you need to put a decent amount of money into your weapon of choice to make it outrange a good AEG.
There are many discussions in the forums section, I highly suggest checking them out, and then make your decision on whether or not you even want to be an airsoft sniper. There are some guns out there you can make reach out 300', but not without highly upgrading, and modifying. Most stock guns that meet the FPS limits only reach between 175'-200' and aren't very accurate. There are AEG's that either stock, or with minor upgrading (tight bore barrel, and bucking)reach those same distances, go semi, or full auto, and are fairly accurate to those distances.
Not trying to rain on your parade, I just hate seeing new guys waste money on something that they didn't understand. It happens a lot.

Since you sound like a new player, I'd highly suggest looking into getting an AEG as a first gun. As Shortie said, sniping in airsoft isn't like how it is in Cod of Dookie.

A Cyma AK, G&G Combat Machine or JG MP5 are all cheap, highly reliable AEGs that will give you a good feel for the game. I'd also highly suggest buying them new. Buying used is tempting, but if you're just getting into the game, a used gun can be more headaches than it's worth.
Then, if you decide that you want to continue playing airsoft, then look into getting and building a bolt.

Thanks for the advice...... Ive actually been airsofting for 5 years now. I just asked because i didnt know if there was a rule on fps. Ive been a sniper for the past 2 years and my sniper is actually more of a secondary because i prefer close quarters combat

Been airsofting for five years, and you're 17, and didn't know about fps??? All I can say is you must have been "backyard" airsofting with your buddies. Otherwise, it's a little tough to believe.
