1300km NW of the Darial Gorge is a small fishing village on the Crimean Peninsula. Russian forces are planning to meet with an unknown Crimean Tatar power figure in an effort to heal old wounds and align forces against the US.

US Special Operations assets are deploying to conduct special reconnaissance, civil affairs and direct action missions to disrupt Russian efforts and ensure the Crimean Peninsula remains unsecured.

MilSim West presents “The Crimean Crisis.” 21-23 February 2014, Camp Rilea, Oregon.

FAQ:

Q. Your previous events were cheaper, why the increase in price?
A. We have always prided ourselves on our events offering a good value to participants, and this has absolutely not changed. The price has gone up, but so has the value; each additional dollar raised through registration has gone to improving the event.

Q. You mentioned a better value, what do you mean by that?
A. Lots of pyrotechnics, access to a unique and exciting AO to include a MOUT site, heated barracks and shower facilities, and of course your BBs will be issued as part of the event.
Anyone who was at our previous event, Darial Gate will remember the visceral feel of parachute flares going off overheard during the night phases, and mortar rounds exploding during the day phase - expect more of that!

Q. Ugh, late February in the Pacific Northwest? Aren't you guys worried about the weather?
A. Not at all. Part of the value you are getting from this event is access to military barracks, and shower facilities. It can rain all day, but who cares if you get to go back and take a shower, change into dry clothes, and sleep on a bed inside?

Q. I see your event is at Camp Rilea, I went to a previous airsoft event there and it focused too much on the MOUT site and I was unhappy. What will you do differently?
A. MilSim West's bread and butter is woods-based events, and always has been. We plan for that to continue, especially at this event. The MOUT site will be utilized, but by no means will it be the focal point of the event. Trust us!

Q. Can I wait till the last moment to pay?
A. Yes, you can wait till the last minute to pay but we wouldn't recommend it. Our previous event sold out before the close of registration leaving many who were planning on coming, but hadn't registered yet, out in the cold. On top of that, there is a significant discount offered to those who register early (before Jan 7, 2014).

Q. When does registration close?
A. Typically, registration closes 2-weeks prior to the event. We would not recommend you wait that long as we expect this event to sell out.

Q. What are the available sides at this event?
A. There are two available sides, and three factions. There is NATO forces on one side, and Russian on the other supported by the local Crimean Tatar militia.

Q. What are the uniform and/or kit restrictions?
A. NATO is limited to Multicam, however if you bring a squad of 9 or larger you can wear any NATO based camouflage you want - as long as it is not Russian or US M81 Woodland.
Russian forces are limited to Russian camouflage only.
The Crimean Tatars are limited to US M81 woodland only, and please no plate carriers or helmets - this is a militia unit.

Q. What are the weapon restrictions?
A. NATO is limited to US style weapons only (AR variant/SCAR/M249/M240/M60/M40/SR25/M14s).
Russians are limited to Russian/Soviet weapons system (AK/SVD/PKM/RPK).
Crimean Tatars have no weapon restrictions.

Q. What airports are closest to the AO?
A. PDX (Portland International Airport) in Portland, OR is about a 2 hour drive to the AO.
SEATAC (Seattle-Tacoma International Airport) in Seattle, WA is a little over a 3 hour drive to the AO.

Q. I want to use a blank-fire weapon system. What is the approval process?
A. PM the MSW FB page for more information if you are interested in using a blank-fire weapon system.

Hope I can make it!
I do hope that after all this discreditable shuffling we may be taken into action. It has a wonderful way of reconciling a man with himself: and with everybody else, sometimes. - 1st Lt. James Dillon

HNNNNNG!

Must find way to get out of previous governmental engagement!

This will be good. MSW has been planning this event for some time now, and this will be good.

What is your issue with blanks?

I thought I already posted this. I guess it was deleted for some odd reason?

The last event SPECDET1 attended there were issues with some of the people running blanks. These issues have been resolved within our team, and I am happy to say we will be fielding s decent sized squad of SEAL's for this event.
