I'll give the first game a shot and attend. However, If on gameday I see any paintballers on the field, lower or upper, I will politely ask for a full refund.

none of us do, thats why we do not go to splat action is several years.

sorry to hear someone handed you a flaming bag of shit... if you are new there.

the history there tells me that there is zero value at that field.

i will absolutely guarentee the field is in the same shape as we left it if not worse.

Morgan, I don't know if that's fair to say. Last Summer I was there to meet John, the camping areas and commons areas were very clean and had several improvements. I didn't head out to the field so I can't speak to that.

It takes a lot of hard work to put a game on. I do most of it myself. I write the game, the premise for it, the briefings for the teams, and the work instructions for the staff. I make lists of props, objectives, alternative objectives, roles and a load of other details that go into making these games fun and exciting.
For years I have been told that Splat Action should host more Airsoft games. That the field is perfect for Airsoft and that all they had to do to make it happened was to keep the paintballers off of it during the game. So here we are with a night and a day set-aside exclusively for Airsoft and me busting my butt trying to make this game happen and 50% of the response that I’m getting from Airsoft players is crap. So why am I doing this? It sure as hell isn’t for the money.
This event is teetering on the edge ladies and gentlemen, which means that Airsoft at Splat Action is teetering as well. I need to see some support for this game.

You have to understand where a lot of us are coming from. For years we heard "we'll improve the field" and "no paintballers will be there". But we never saw this. The "improvements" they made were to build a bunker in a part of the field that is never used. They constantly broke the no paintballer promise. They had a history of not having clean shitters when the contract said they would. We stopped playing there because most of us became disenchanted with their shit and moved on. We also had more outdoor fields: Scappoose, Warpaint, SnipersDen...

So, post up details about your game. Post a story line, post team break up, post FPS limits. Right now we have no information about these games, and you are asking a lot of us to trust your word...

Agree with Jester316. Team FOAD MIGHT be interested. Heard a lot of stuff on AP but willing to give it a try. We need story line, time frame of game starting (ball park), cost to play, able to just play on sunday instead of the night game? More info would be good.

As for paint ballers!!! If any of my members get hit you better have good security. If my whole team is there your looking at 25 members plus friends chasing down the shooter. If they respect us we will respect them.

Look man, to be honest, I don't know you. I haven't heard your name or your call sign around here, and you joined AP less than 3 weeks ago. You come in and offering promises, promises we have heard before, and promises we have seen broken time and time again. A lot of us like Splat Action, and would like to be able to get back out onto the Splat Action field for some good game play. However you are just a faceless name right now. A faceless name offering promises we have heard before. Besides that every new kid on the block thinks he can come in and start hosting events that will draw big numbers. But that's not how this works, I'm not going to jump on board because you have a fancy field. You have to prove to me that your game is going to be worth driving out there and then giving you money to play, You have to prove to me that you know what you are doing. I haven't seen a game poster, I haven't seen a set of rules, or objectives, I haven't seen a camouflage breakdown, hell I haven't seen ANYTHING from you but the promise of a game. You don't seem to understand the community you are trying to sell your game to, which makes me wonder how you are going to be able to put on a game that will be "fun and exciting" for airsofters. We are not paintballers our game styles and game play are very different. So you may think you can put on a game, but what experience do you have with Airsoft?

Also Keep in mind that of the 14 AP members who have posted in this thread 8 of us have experience with hosting events here on AP. We know what it takes to put an event on and many of us have helped put on some very successful events in our community, so please try and keep that in mind when reprimanding us like we are children.

All that being said, I would like to get out to Splat action for some game time, I hope I am able to make it.
Thanks

Promoting a game takes more than a venue and a forum topic. It took me years to build a big enough following to book the games I ran a Splat Action with 300+ people. You can't just back out and give up at the first sign of not having enough people, it takes time to build a following. Your first game might have 50 people, your second may break 100, maybe in a couple years you'll be drawing that crowd of 300.

The reason why you always see the debate about Paintballers on the field is simple. Airsoft takes up more of the field. We flank and cover very large distances. Most of the paintball games I've seen are quick elimination skirmishes where 1 team starts 1 side, the other team on the other and they play in a specific designated part of the field. That just doesn't work with Airsoft scenario games, give us 65 acres and we'll use all 65 of them and then we'll probably even accidentally spill over into the adjacent property. The dilemma with Splat Action was that when paintballers show up, they have to turn away money if they tell them they can't play. So, in our experience they've always tried to run paintball on top of our operation events, even when we had 400 people and we're bringing them $10,000 in revenue for 1 day.

what matt has said, in a big way.

first game i went to at splat action was Grid -18. there was about 400 players.

this community is like a junkie chasing that high.... because ever since grid -18, there has not been a turnout like that at ANY FIELD for ANY GAME.

so maybe you should use your budget and hire Zeus to host the game for you since he has experience with this community, and that field.

to do anything else is spinning your wheels.

if splat got a average of 5k in revenues per game with all the events hosted there, then that is plain proof that the field owner does not care enough about his business to re invest into it in a serious manner. so like i said earlier, if you are new there, you got handed a flaming bag of shit. in order to put out the flames, your feet are going to be covered in shit. it will take along time to clean that situation up.
