New to 'large-scale' airsoft

Postby Jaster » Thu Sep 12, 2013 10:56 am

Greetings AP community! I am an Airsofter from Corvallis, and one of the the organizers of CAC (Corvallis Airsoft Coalition... Previously known as Corvallis Tactical Airsoft Group). We are a small-scale group of Airsofters who have not really 'branched out' of our own circle as a whole. CAC is a rather diverse group, filled with both older and newer Airsofters, most of which having known/met each other through high school or by living close to each other. At the moment, we hold seven active Airsofters, with many more 'inconsistent' members. Our leading goal with CAC has been to get 'new people' into Airsoft... Lending them weapons and letting them experience Airsoft without feeling the over-bearing need to invest into something they know little about.

...But on a more personal note, my name is Patrick. I am twenty years old and have been playing Airsoft on and off for the past four years. Again, in this time I have not really gone to any non-private matches other than the recent Camp R&R Presents “Angola Uranium Mines” event. While many say (and from experience, doubtlessly know) that this was not the largest game, it left me feeling inspired to get CAC as a whole into more 'large-scale' games and events. I am quite open to advice from older Airsofters... Even if it consists of things I already know. It can't hurt to be reminded of things once and a while.

At the moment, my equipment/gear stands at:
- King Arms Smith & Wesson M&P15 Magpul MOE M4 (Which has given me a lot of trouble... through this year.)
- CM028 AK47 AEG Airsoft Gun (My first AEG. I usually lend it out to new CAC members, but I am still quite fond of it.)
- Full Woodland BDU (Pants, Jacket, Fatigue cap)
- Black 'Swiss arms' tactical vest.
- A black bandana... Which I never go airsofting without. Tradition is an odd thing.

Anyway, I look forward to getting out to more games and Airsofting with the lot of you in the near future! Cheers!

Welcome! Glad to hear there's organization happening in Corvallis. That's how everything gets started, groups of folks enjoying the game, loaning guns, getting new people out to shoot at... good times!

Aaah the good old days.... Back when Nukeproof had fields that they had no right to use, and no one cared, Team7 would show up with a giant duffel of battered-but-functional AEGs to share with the noobs, and enjoying your Call of Duty wasn't a mortal sin.

Shogo, my friend... Shogo.

Welcome to AP!
With all the pretty flowers and twigs in your ghillie.. perhaps you should take up gardening?

Welcome to AP !
There is no 'overkill.' There is only 'open fire' and 'I need to reload.
