bolt action or sniper rifles whats the difference?

Hello, Yesterday I got into a fight between my teammate because he wanted to buy a sniper rifle, that had gas power instead of bolt action. He told that the bolt action was more work to shoot then the gas but I told him the gas sniper is for people who are used for exp snipers and he should get the bolt so he can get good at shooting so what is the difference between these two so i can help him and me out.

P.S is there even a gas power sniper?

I'm not a fan of the gas snipers. Yes they are easy to pull back and shoot rather then pulling the spring bolt back. How ever from what I understand the gas guns act different during playing such as morning vs the after noon. Gas is cold your fps will be low. As it gets warmer the fps increases. So being a true sniper will be hard under these conditions and getting your scope right in my opinion. I have no exp in the gas but heard from several other players to stick with the spring guns. FPS will be the same no matter if it's cold or hot out. I love my JG BAR10. Plus mags are cheaper for the spring vs the gas I'm sure.

To start with the best snipers (in Airsoft) employ spring powered bolt action rifles. They are more realiable and much more accepting of upgrade parts which are much more plentiful then upgrades for a gas bolt action. Secondly it's the person or the "sniper" that's makes the rifle. Buying a bolt action and carrying it doesn't mean you're a sniper with an über sniper rifle. Can't tell you how many times I see people running around with crap bolts and suffering because of it. Before investing the money in a bolt Airsoft rifle (it's an investment, you'll end up spending almost $5-700 before its any good. (I've built two in the last 4 years) At least $300 before you can effectively use it in a skirmish. So before spending the money train and play using sniper tactics with nothing more then your aeg. By the time you can consistently kill the enemy without them ever having the slightest idea of what happened you will not only have the skillset down pat but you will have also saved up enough money to start your rifle build.

Start with ending your sentences with a period. I've been to Ireland, they have those there.

Also, I'm pretty sure the rules of written English don't differ much between countries. Good try, but that excuse doesn't fly.

For the record, though, I was more referring to actual content. For example, a properly regulated compressed air rifle does NOT have much, if any, fluctuation during the day. Before you argue with me, realize that I have compressed air tanks that are older than you are.

Good question.

HPA is a gas, for the record. So is CO2. In fact, YOU confused the issue by calling all gases, well, gases. Differing gases perform radically differently. But you'd have to have had a good chemistry teacher to know that. Not your fault your education fails.

Sorry. We've got badly off topic because some the the other posters either can't use the English language or prefer to be imprecise.

No, springer sniper rifles aren't bad. I've seen more good springer snipers than HPA snipers. They're cheaper to build and work fine. Ask Jester about how many times he's used his in a DMR role at games. Having said that any--ANY--sniper rifle's accuracy is in the build. Things like barrel and hopup, for example become critical.

I've seen dozens of players with "sniper rifles." There's only about three of them that I'd prefer they carried them over an AEG.
