Planning new kit, would like some input

Postby Tankwitch » Wed Jul 17, 2013 5:20 pm

As the title said I'm planning on picking up new kit, and right now I'm leaning towards ranger green as the base color.
I've looked at Flyye, Pantac and I see some good options. As I know nowhere close to as much as I want to know about load bearing vests. What other lines or places should I look at?
I'm a major chairsofter, sorry about that.

Or you can just search RLCS on Ebay and get LBT, Eagle, and so on for about the same price.

What are you planning on doing? An impression? Or just kit that does what you need it to do (carry shit).

If you're looking to do an impression, take a look at putting together an older (2005-2009 dates might be wrong, I don't really keep up with Ranger kits) Ranger impression. They used RG EPCs (AKA MBAVs). Flyye makes a great clone of it, which I'd look for since Eagle versions go for 200+ on ebay when they do pop up. You could also get an RG RRV or a TT MAV. Finding a TT MAV is pretty easy. RRV is easy to find on Ebay as well, but the price does run a bit high.

If you're looking at just making something that works, I'd look into a 6094 (or a clone since I'm guessing you're not looking to drop the money that real kit costs) or a Shellback Banshee. I had a Banshee for a while and the price point can't be beat for what you get (very well built PC that's made in Merica). The only reason I sold it was I decided to start building an impression kit. I currently have a LBT 6094 which is pretty comfy. I got it over my MBAV since it was easier to shoot a pistol with the slimmer chest cut (the front on the 6094 is 2 MOLLE columns smaller than the MBAV).

There's also the JPC which is good if you're tiny, and not planning on loading it full of shit. If you're planning on using all of the MOLLE, I'd look at a different plate carrier. Overloaded JPCs are like a rice rocket or a beaner car with too much flair.

Whatever you do end up going with, I'd avoid TMC kit like the clap. It's not that well made, and for the price, there's much better companies to buy from.

The bottom dropped right out of the RLCS market, so yeah it's dirt cheap right now.
