"Hardcore" MILsim game idea

Items in ( ) are subject to change. Small game, total participants- 40-100 maybe. Possibly smaller.

Teams vs OPFOR

Scenario: OPFOR has taken hostages at (Ivan’s Farm). Teams all scramble at set position and then drive to location and commence operation. There are no rules to this besides standard safety rules. The terrorists can move within or without the house and surrounding areas as they wish, moving the hostages or splitting them up or killing them. They can secret one of their own into the hostages. The teams can all meet in (Portland), plan to drive to a secondary location and get suited up and then split into however they want or they can drive straight to the AO and commence as they see fit. They can take an hour to drive or they can take 5 hours. The event would start at (12PM) and go till it ends.

Situation without hostages: OPFOR are running a (drug plant) instead of having hostages.

Scoring?
Hostage- Teams can be based on how many hostages are surviving at the end.
Can't think of any method to score the OPFOR at this moment.

No Hostage- The OPFOR can be scored for how many (items) they make while running a (drug plant). The Teams can be scored on how many (items) were found. i.e. the OPFOR can be making (tennis ball grenades) and can hide them or cache them however they want. The Teams would want to locate and secure as many of these (tennis ball grenades) as possible. Points would be deducted for every (grenade) not accounted for and granted for each found. 1 point to 2 points respectively.

Spawns would be limited, maybe capped. Maybe 5-10/15 spawns per player. Don't want the endless stream of players we have at larger events.

Teams would spawn at the vehicles or perhaps behind. OPFOR can spawn at points they have in their control.

Logical gear and clothing choices for both. OPFOR can assume to be military activists or just local thieves. Teams can be SWAT, DEA or SEALs. No OPFOR in Multicam etc.

This is my first draft of this idea so suggestions are welcome. My idea behind this game is to have it scripted to a point but have everything be up to the Teams/OPFOR planning. The Teams can implement a four pronged assault on the house only to find the OPFOR not there with the house trapped.

This would not be a game for all. Honestly don't want anyone under 18 unless they're part of a team like SOTA/Phantom Furies/SPECDET-1/APST etc.

Haha, 99% of the membership of the listed teams there are over 50, let alone 18.

Initially I thought of a game because with many more people it opens up the array of strategies and tactics. Hence the no one under 18. Now thinking of it as a competition it would be pretty cool as well. It could work both on a medium and small scale I think. Massive 400 people would just get insane. Medium scale would work really well if you had primary and secondary objectives depending on the story and area. Having a 40 man-count for the Teams could mean 20 for each objective and having 60 OPFOR present who have been standing guard, sleeping, eating, joking, doing anything they want at one or both of the objectives.

The only concern I would have is gearing up at an alternate location and driving to the field. I'd advise people not have their weapons slung at that point, especially if they are driving a long distance... Just in case some other passing motorist freaks out.

I like these ideas, not enough smaller skirms actually try anything other than really basic gameplay objectives. If you get people willing to do it, you can easily whip up a quick scenario like this. It kind of reminds me of the "mini CQC" events or CQC training events Bill used to put on.

That would definitely by discouraged against. I was thinking like they'd get picked up & stow their gear and rifles, drive almost all the way there, stop, review and get slung and then move to execute.

This sounds awesome. An event like this can be held in state forest. You just have to get a special use permit (very easy) and then no shooting within 15 feet of any trailheads. We could spend days on an event

CQC3 did something very similar. Teams would wait nearby the location of the event. Once they got the call from game admins, they would head to the field, arriving up the road from "The Crack house" already geared up. There they would be briefed on the situation. They would then have to move down the street, enter the house, and deal with the occupants.

We were going to do something like that.
At the time we had access to 2-3 ford cargo vans. We were going to use Broc's parent's truck yard as the staging point and drive them to the AO an hour or so away at night. Would have been fun.

The best thing about this idea is that the guards or whoever aren't sitting there knowing exactly when the shooting starts. That's one of the advantages of being the attacker is taking the sentries by surprise. In airsoft, we don't get the advantage of leaving the sentries bored for days on end.
