DYTAC AEG Internals?

Postby The Grand Baboon » Thu Feb 14, 2013 12:44 pm

I saw a recent thread talking about DYTAC AEGs. Words seemed positive. I didn't want to crap up their thread, so I thought I'd create another.

Has anyone cracked a DYTAC GB open? I'm interested to see what their internals are like. I was considering getting a G&P to upgrade, but DYTAC offers something closer to the configuration eventually want to end up with (18" barrel, full rails), it could possibly save me money in the long run if I went with DYTAC over G&P.

Certainly nothing to write home about. Looks more ACM quality (typically found in ACM guns) than higher end platforms such as KWA's and G&P to name a few.

I like Classic Army AEG's, and those internals looks very similar (viz. non-ball bearing spring guide). I don't have any experience with other components or what metal (or lack there of) they are made of.

Could have used a better spoke's model, but nice review :) Sounds like it runs without the loud whine also that some guns get.

Looks pretty janky to me, I'd be interested to hear from Chesty to see how his has held up under the extreme conditions his rifles get put through :D

To see if the buffer mount at the lower receiver will survive falling on it? Lol! Been there done that.

Whatever....lol. the one time I fall over a log.... Anyway, 11.1 lipo right out of the gate spins at 27rps. The thing is pretty freaking solid. The piston is also very strange, never seen one before but after about 25k rds, it hasnt skiped or shredded. I will admit the cylinder head and piston head are not the greatest, but if you all recall, the classic army is the same way, and their guns cost more and are made of pot metal not aluminium.

You all know, I love my vfc's. I will argue to the death about them being the best made AR platform in airsoft. With that said, these guns are really freaking close to as nice. Plus for half the cost, you can not go wrong. I am now in Dallas TX, on my way to AMS ESR-19. I'm going to be using my dytac and will let you all know how it holds up to a national event with me behind the wheel.

looks like a CYMA. I have never seen a CYMA M4 before, but thats the same gearbox and internals used in all the CYMA Mp5's and the same internals they use in the CYMA AK's. Same gears, piston/piston head, spring guide, cylinder head, and tappet plate, and they always had the safety screw outside the gearbox. I can't really tell from the video but i would bet the gearbox surface is textured rather than smooth like the CYMA boxes as well. They are same guns echo 1 used to Rebrand for the TFB and master series mp5's, and many of their AK's. Looks like they upgraded the steel bushings to bearings finally.

Well if Jesse doesn't know what's going on, who does...lol. Look forward to see how it holds up at ESR19.

I have the urx III, and love it. Again the only problem I've had has been the receiver pin( which I've been assured is being taken care of). I originally bought mine because of all the hype, and the claims I'd heard- had to check it out myself. That being said, I have put over 25k rounds through mine, dropped it, fell on it, and gotten it caked with mud-- no failures. This gun has been awesome. So much in fact I bought my son one as well, and again, only problem was the receiver pin. We are both hard on gear, and these have performed extremely well. The manufacturer also recomends using 11.1 lipo, and gives a one year warranty on the gear box! Who does that? There are other quality guns out there (kwa, vfc, king arms, etc...),and I'am in no means knocking them, but in my experience, for the money, the Dytac is REALLY tough to beat.

It's funny how AEG brands have evolved. Ten years later and we still can't outlast a Tokyo Marui AK47.
