If there's any room for AFSOC (CCT or PJ), I can toss my name up on the list. Barring that, I'll take a Ranger slot.

Im down for being a PJ or Ranger, depending on the gear reqs. I have an RG JPC, works for ranger or JP right?

Negative, nobody uses RG JPCs. You'd need a Multicam one.

I'm down for whatever, I mainly want to get out and experience a milsim event so I can get a look at all of ya in your nice gear (but mostly to see how people operate).
Any suggestions towards a simple kit?

It's an impressions game, the whole point is to avoid going bone simple. :/

My question would be, then, is where is the line drawn? I mean, in theory, what's to stop a person from rolling in pashtun gear with an M4 and calling it USSF? Because that wouldn't be wrong, per se.

There really is no basic kit. The Impressionists can point you towards more detailed kit lists and I believe there are threads for just that. BSP is not expecting people run towards the "hard-core" level where every detail must be 100% correct, just correct enough to fool the camera. I highly recommend that you take a look at the last event's photos to see if you are willing to make that level of a jump in gear. It can be an expensive jump too. That being said an impression is a look. Mil-sim is a style of play. These types of events rarely go hand in hand, unless you play at an this type of event.

As for what exactly is allowed, Im sure Bill will be by to better explain what he is looking for and where he draws the line on what he counts as an impression and not.

Edit: Post altered to conform with change of details in OP.
