anyone else have issues with usps?

Postby Reaver » Fri Nov 09, 2012 10:26 am

Just curious if it was a fluke or if other people have encountered issues with usps. The f***-tards "delivered to the wrong address", and can't seem to recover the package...so much for my rails and peq15.
When in doubt, empty the mag.

Nope.

Usually, nobody's home when they need to drop it off face to face.

But things can change...

If we get any certified mail, the carrier doesn't bother knocking on the door, he just leaves the little deal telling us they "missed you!" and to go pick it up.

They're the USPS, they don't have to care.

Also, just checked the status on my package from Amazon that posted yesterday. It was a 3-5 day shipping. Estimated arrival date: Nov 19th. So, 3-5 days in USPS speak is 9 days.
This is shipping from California, too. Should be 2 days at the most.

I've only had one problem with them. I left some music playing in my house when no one was home, and apparently they just left the package out from (nothing super expensive, just more bio Bb's) my neighbor saw the package sitting on the front porch and eventually took it to his house so no one would swipe it. It kind of freaked me out because at some point I'll be getting my gun pre order and that would suck if they leave it on my front porch again. I can't leave music playing when I'm not home or they may just ditch the package.

from the AONW shipping desk:
Spend the few $$ extra and use UPS ground! They automatically insure your package for up to $99. UPS offers step by step tracking so you know EXACTLY where your items are and when they're out for delivery. They require a signature on delivery unless you specific choose not to. Your shit arrives broken and mashed? They BUY YOU NEW SHIT!

The USPS label number does NOTHING for you, except let you know that USPS picked up the package, and when they have delivered the package. Insurance costs extra. Signature on delivery costs extra. And if they lose your stuff.... well shit, they don't knwo what happened to it, and they MIGHT refund your shipping costs. shazaam goverment run post in the neck.

Just yesterday I finally got a package from Amazon which was over a week late because USPS delivered it to a house in a completely different neighborhood and the homeowners were on vacation. They came by a dropped it off themselves when they got back in town.

Nothing but bad from them. We had a package delivered to some one else one time, by luck they knew who we are so we where able to pick it from them. The people where about 2-3 miles from our house, no where close in street name or address. It has happened lots of times. Most of the time if the package requires a signature we have to go into Forest Grove Post Office to pick it up, they will not bother coming to the door, someone is always home at our place. In my opinion they do not earn their money.

I ship dozens of items through USPS every day for Starr Self-Reliance. The only time we encounter issues with things being delivered to the wrong address, the customer made the mistake. Either it shipped to an older shipping address of theirs or a few doors off because of a mistyped number. I'm not saying this is what happened, but I've sent thousands of packages and never once had the USPS be at fault. I've never heard of them being unable to recover a package, though.

I guess the difference is that you live in the city and I live in the country. I know my mail delivery person does not give a crap. I wish it was different.

We'll I found my package after cruising the neighborhood and leaving a few notes on peoples doors with the same address. Got a call at work confirming they had my package. I'm spending the extra cash on ups next time. And have it on will call. Screw you usps.

I've been receiving many packages both from UPS and USPS. I've never had an issue with USPS, and I know my mail carrier. Nice guy. It's like any organization that relies on people exclusively: Good, people, good service. Bad people, bad service. Their record with me is stellar.
