New to area, have a few questions.

Postby Polishhero » Sat Nov 03, 2012 12:21 pm

Hello everyone, new to the board and new to the area. I moved to Portland from southern California and have been interested in playing airsoft again. My brother is also interested in starting, and has already purchased most of this equipment. My question is, where can I find a club or group that does regular outdoor skirmish type games? I don't really like cqb, most places here are charging far too much money and none of my equipment was chosen for cqb/indoor because I have been used to having a run of outdoor professional fields within an hours' drive. I am very excited to start playing and meet some new people and I thank anyone in advance who might point me in the right direction.

Hello, and welcome to AP. under the Teams tab, there should be a listings of all the Teams/clubs around the PAC-NW. And check the events tab, there are some great games/OPs coming up soon.

Welcome to AP. You will find that there are a lot of helpful people on here. Just stay away from the Trolls, and read the stickies.

You can find event information here http://airsoftpacific.com/viewforum.php?f=10&sid=1951a1dff0f2cad82bee4344548fc476

Not much going on right now. I think a lot of people are scared of getting wet. They'll soon realize that this is Oregon and it rains a lot here. So they'll either play in the rain and cold, or wait till next summer.

Definitely check out Santa's War. That'd be an excellent first game. They're a lot of fun.

Welcome!

Speaking of Stubby and Camp R&R, they hold a game at least once a month. Costs are low, and they have a pretty darn good outdoor field. I'm worried I'll end up being a regular. ;)

Thank you for the warm welcome. I contacted r and r earlier today to as about events actually. I've find the events board and didn't see much going on. I will browse around , what I am really looking for is a decent sized group of people who meet somewhere within an hour or two of Portland and play like woods-ball sort of pick up play. Ill try to make it out the next event I'm not working during. Thanks again!

Welcome to AP. check the R&R games, they're pretty fun and loose and if you don't know anyone they're a good way to get introduced.

Welcome. I migrated from SoCal 5 years ago and don't regret it. It's a great place up here. Hope you enjoy it.

Welcome! You found it. There's lots of outdoor events posted to the events forum, and regular free pickup skirms, although those aren't as common as they used to be unfortunately.
