CIRAS Carrier

Postby Lukens » Thu Aug 23, 2012 3:03 pm

I used the search bar, and I googled the shit out of it. I guess im blind, but I cant seem to find any CIRAS carriers at a reasonable price! I can find legit ones, but for $400-600 bucks. Im looking for something around a $100 or so.

I know there are a few really cheap no name chinese clones floating around, but I'd prefer something with a little more professional reputation behind it. Does anyone know of any good CIRAS clones? Maritime or land, I dont really care which.
The only thing I really need is it to be small. Im a smaller guy, 5'10, but only 135 lbs. I like something with a pretty tight fit.

Anyone have any links? Any help is appreciated.

Did you really look? :? If you look up reputable airsoft brands like Flyye or even Condor* you'll get something.

FYI, CIRAS are pretty big so if you get one you'll have to cinch that cummerbund down really tight.

*If you want the quick-release option found in real CIRAS vests.

You put me to shame Android, I apologize for my lazyness. I need to find someone that has a CIRAS so I can try it on. Definitely going to need a size small.

For Flyye or Pantac you're looking at $150-$250.

There are the chinese knock offs for around $100-$150.

The CIRAS is very bulky, I recently sold mine (Phantom/Pantac) and bought a Flyye 6094 instead. The 6094 is a lot better in my opinion and also more current in terms of use.

Im looking for a more full coverage carrier, not just a plate carrier. I want the space that an LBV provides, with the sturdyness and more compactness a carrier provides. If you know of anything that will fit that bill, send me some links!

the 6094's are just too damn small, even though im a smaller guy. Besides, everyone and their grandma has one lol.

Pantac/FLYYE Molle Style Plate Carrier (EPC reprlica). Almost the same amount of MOLLE realestate as the CIRAS, without the bulkiness.

This is generally because it's good and works.

Very true. Im still considering it. However, we all know airsoft is a large part peacocking, and the rest is actually playing lol.

If you're set on a CIRAS, keep an eye on Ebay. Eagle ones usually go for $250 that are in great condition. They go for a cheap price since they are old hat compared to the new hotness out there. Eagle ones also come in sizes S-XL so look for a small and you're golden.

There's also the BAE RBAV. It's designed by the same chap that did the CIRAS (Matt Johnson) and is basically an updated version of the same thing. Downside of them is even used ones go for about their retail price. There may be a China clone of it, but I haven't seen it. On the plus side, it's designed better and I believe they made it a bit lighter.

Going back in time, there's the DBT Predator carrier. It doesn't have a QR function which is not needed in airsoft. They can be had for around your price range as well ($100-170). It looks more like a Paraclete RAV than a CIRAS but it's still a full coverage carrier.

There's also the Paraclete RAV. Its a very old system that is releasable. You can find the MSA Paraclete one for pretty cheap as that's when the quality took a downturn (I've handled both Pre and Post MSA pouches and there is a difference in terms of the stitching). Finding a Pre MSA one is not easy nor cheap, but it will last forever and hold it's value when you decide to sell it better than others. There's also plenty of China clones of this. Pantac, Flyye and TMC make a clone of it that I know of. I know there are other brands as well, but I don't know their names off the top of my head.

Disclaimer:I've never owned any of the above, but I've done a fair amount of looking on each of them since I've had a chubby for that style of vest forever. I've never bought one since they are on the bigger side and I like my smaller carriers (EPC/ FAPC/Banshee).

Pantac makes an RBAV replica.

Although I'd personally recommend this baby over the CIRAS, at least:

Snowman, that pantac Strike carrier is lookin mighty nice...

http://www.reloadready.com/index.php?p= ... cat1=&dis=

I was thinking, for the cost, might as well go with the extra pouches ya?

also, have you had previous dealings with this website? Its all pantac gear, and a little on the sketch side, but it seems to have pretty good prices.

Look! A Chinese clone.

Half the cost, though likely more like .7 or .75x after shipping. Ah well.
