Old dog learning new tricks! Greetings.

Apparently I joined this site long ago, but since Ive been out of the game for so long I will start over.

Hello all,

Im Merlin, a transplant from Houston, TX. I havent charged my AEG for a real game since 2004. Now I think the TM M4 I have is a bit outdated, but she will still kick some a$$ in her lifetime. (Once I get her rewired that is!) I am newish to Portland, moving up from Salem in mid June, and feel like I might as well get back into the hobby now that I live somewhere where it is popular. Previously played extremely regularly from c. 2001-2004 and had a lot of great guns back in the days when it was rather difficult at times to come by them from Japan and Hong Kong. Visited Airsoft Outlet yesterday and nearly shed a tear for how far US Airsofting has come! The shop owners pointed me right to this site to get to know the great community.

Im looking forward to getting my AEG back up and running and looking to purchase a new one as soon as I am up to speed again. I am in Clackamas area, so figure I will venture to the indoor place up by PDX sometime soon just to have some fun.

Thanks, and I hope I get to know many of you!

Welcome back to AP!

Enjoy your stay!

Also, TM guns rock. I think a few of our members still have their first TM's running strong, which were probably from near 6 or 7 years ago.

Can't beat those TM faeries man.

TM's were awesome back in the day, but these days you can get a much better gun for a much lower price. Your TM should hold you over, but I'd recommend something newer over upgrading it to compete with most current guns.

Welcome back.

Tonight I pick up my Airsoft bins from Salem. Then it will be time to have someone help me rewire the M4 so she doesnt overheat and shutdown anymore.

In anticipation, I couldnt help but snag a barely used USAF ABU jacket from Goodwill last night for only $6. Now I need some pants.

On that note, are people up here as anal about wearing only ACUs or MARPAT for everything, as they were in Texas? Cause, I was an AF guy, and I either play in my OD flightsuit with gear, or the ABU Tiger pattern.
