I just had to correct you :D . Your statement is atleast partially true since some people wear the shittest conditions of woodland bdu's. Welcome to AP.

Thank you for the correction. I've had problems with those acronyms, I never though I would own a...UCP loadout until now. The thing is, the field we play on is VERY sandy in lots of areas, so I've had lots of luck with laying on the ground when someone walks by.

I agree! I've had more luck realizing that if your camo is somewhat tuned to the environment, movement and noise is a much bigger factor than your camo. Our team's belief is that the camo only gives an initial advantage, but the human eye is attracted more to movement than to odd colors. That and sound gives off your location. I've tried to train others to move only when needed, and if you are moving, try to do so when the wind blows. Leave rustling is nature's silencer.

So you think you're better than me?

Also UCP doesn't work here, except that one time we played in a rock quarry.

If you're a small kid that runs around screaming, possibly. But seriously, no. I wouldn't think I was better than you at airsoft unless we had 1vs1 experience, and even then I wouldn't assume anything. I've had my off days, so I'm sure everyone does.

The outfit I have looks decent, and that's all I'm aiming for. The UCP camoflauges well in the sandy environments I sometimes play in, and all of the other fields in my area are CQB. If I ever come down to play at camp RNR, I think I might pick up a new wardrobe. I've heard MARPAT works well??

I run around screaming and singing all the time. I get lots of kills. I single handedly took out 8 guys (and scared the shit out of a lot more) at the last big SniperzDen game Riddick put on (god damn I love my saw). I was walking around in the open, not trying to hide.

Welcome to AP. Don't brag about yourself. Don't act like you know everything. Listen to those of us who have been here for a long time.

And camo pattern isn't the sole piece to being sneaky. I've snuck around in Alpenflauge and not been noticed...

Refer to the post at the top of this page... It saves me tons of time.

Screaming is good in some cases, like if you need your team to run forward an they don't have enough motivation. Screaming will help tons! I'm more talking about the kids who weren't taught airsoft very well. They run around with springers, clear plastic sporting store LPAEGs, .12 gram bbs, and sweatshirts. All ideas are given over a shout that can scare a bird off of it's branch a mile away.

This is kind of the way the general public and younger kids see airsoft, when this forum is full of more mature airsofters that are what the sport SHOULD be modeled after. .25g high precision bbs, metal guns, hand signals, and camoflauge. I wanted to get a point out that I know airsoft as a mature player, and not an immature player, even though I am very young considering some of you MilSpec guys are up into your 30s, and I think I recall airsofters on youtube being a good bit older.

Welcome to the forums!

For starters I like your enthusiasm and if you take that energy and put it towards learning and improving your skills on the field you will make a great airsofter. I'm actually very glad you went ahead and made an introduction thread after posting a few times on the forums. It shows that you intend to stay and want to put yourself out there.

A word of advice. Don't feed the trolls, they're always hungry. Don't take things personally from certain members (you will know who I'm talking about eventually). Take constructive criticism for what it is and learn from it. We are a community that all share the same hobby. There are many veterans players who have seen it and done it all in the airsoft world. You also have many hunters, law enforcement, military and public servicemen and women who have lots of real world experience to share, listen and learn.

Maintain a positive attitude and enjoy yourself! Sounds like you are having fun which is the whole point of this sport!

Best Regards,
Snake Eyes

Thanks Snake Eyes!

I know about the trolls. I've dealt with many and there are always many more that are willing to fight against you opinion. I already know a select few on this forum that I don't really care about. Not mentioning any names. I'm willing to learn, that's why I post in some topics with such simple question! If I get a complex answer, and I learn a lot. I love it!

You know what I absolutely love about airsoft along with the games? Those breaks every other game where everyone just sits around. It's such a friendly environment, laughs are had among the group, and it continues on into a great match. It's all team play, and it makes you feel like you're surrounded by one big family. This is one of the best sports/hobbies I've ever decided to become a part of!

Sincerely,
Spitfire

Can people stop being arrogant, and actually look at the map? ehhh? ehhhh?
It has potential.
Get past the "oh em gee hurr durr itz callz of duteh. dat game iz fur twelf year oldz dat no nutin about gunz" and look at the actual layout. It'd need some modifications to be airsoft friendly, but it'd be cool, and is very doable.

Oh, and thanks for the welcoming.

Go ahead and build it, then you can rub it in our faces. Until then we're gonna be cynical and go with the much more likely outcome of you not building what you say you plan to.

This. Having worked at two closed CQB places established by adults with business plans, I have to say your dreams of building a video game map and having the capital to staff it and provide insurance coverage is laughable.

Enthusiasm isn't everything. I'm not being arrogant, I'm being realistic.

I'm confused. How does how much noise you're making effect how well your camo works? It might effect the likelihood of getting spotted because your noise is drawing their eyes, but auditory input has no effect on the visual sense, right?
