Medic loadout

Postby Farmer » Fri Aug 10, 2012 9:57 pm

Ok, I read the topic posted in '09, I understand a full medic kit isnt needed or even recommended for a "noob". I get that. I also know my medic qualifacations arent what they used to be. I let my advanced stuff lapse after I got out and quite working at the hospital.

That being said. Other then triangle bandages, bandaid type stuff and some basic first aid type supplies, how much extra weight should I load a medic bag down with? I wont carry everything I would have if this was still '98, I aint a 91b no more. I DO however want to make the loadout as close to either real as possible or at least real weight. If anyone happens to either know, can weigh, can guess at weight even that would be great.

This fall/winter I am gonna start getting my certifacations again.../sigh more classes yay.

Are you looking to do a certain impression, or to carry medic stuff for actual injuries and airsofters doing stupid shit to themselves?

well, an impression for weight, as well as the basic first aid supplies I can use atm.

Bandaids, non stick bandages (2x3), triangle bandages, 2 cpr guards, some gloves, are the stuff I currently have, all the stuff my current first aid/cpr cert will allow me to use.

BUT I know an aid bag weighs alot more then that stuff does, so I was thinking sort of a "useable" impression if that makes sense

The stuff I can legally use on top with either stuff for weight or that I cant use on the bottom

For like medical stuff? I'd just carry some cravats (triangle bandage) because they're fun to be a Vietnam Bandito with, and just like you said some basic first aid stuff works. PM sent, but I'd suggest getting an aid bag and put a nice shiny red cross on it. I carry a Blackhawk STOMP II (mines OD) with a drop-leg (can't remember the name of it but you can find them on their site) figure if you put that on and put some red crosses on the bag and arms/helmet, you'd look pretty medic-y. Use the aid bag to carry extra ammo/gas/water. The liquids will fill your weight quota with a quickness. My bag sits at about 35 pounds right now. Sticking some NCD's/syringes and trauma shears in your MOLLE adds to the look too, I keep two NCD's in mine.
