Ops-Center, A new Airsoft Event Management Site

Postby Renegade) » Wed Jul 11, 2012 7:03 am

Greetings!

I am Renegade) of http://www.airsoftcanada.com, I have been an airsofter for 7 years, and an Airsoft game host for 6 years.

I am posting here today with the sole purpose of introducing all of you to a project I have been involved in for quite some time, http://www.ops-center.net! Ops-Center is a an event management system that offers Airsoft Event Hosts a new way to create, organize and promote Airsoft games. We are confident that “Gone are the days of sifting through 10 pages of chit chat, to locate all the “in” and the “out” and the dreaded “tent!”. Ops-Center allows you to have all of that discussion board chat, without the scrutiny to the host managing page 1 of the event!

What is particularly neat about it is that it uses google maps to provide you with a geo-location around your local community and from there you can see other players, events, fields, teams and vendors. You can set it to your direct location, or a general one. It becomes a very local experience when your local community starts using it. We have about 300 users on it in Southern Ontario and it is really cool to watch it grow (about 10 new users a day at this point and accelerating).

The system is not designed to supplant or replace local community d-boards, and in fact, we have features that enhance and drive traffic to local sites by hosts using a game graphic embedding feature. Typically d-boards that are used to organize games use post #1 to organize the game. Those game details are actually in the graphic, which updates as the game information changed.

Here is an example: Image

Some of the heavy lifting things OPS Center does for a host is:
- completely free to hosts and players
- Comprehensive event description
- Minimum Age Control
- Event Date Arrive/Start/End
- Autoscram the Event if not enough people sign up by a 'drop dead' date
- Host can create 'sides' and the number of players per side
- Players can join and leave events and the roster updates automatically
- Waiting list management
- Dispute Resolution System for Host & Player (warnings and bans)
- Post photos and videos and post game AAR Wall
- Events are SEO optimized so they are google-find friendly
- Friend system similar to Facebook tells you where your friends are playing
- Can use Facebook Login to establish an account, or manual log in option.
- Daily updated security scans to ensure your personal data is safe.

The list goes on...

I could type a lot more, explaining how ops-center is the new and best way I have ever found to host and manage a game, but I will let you draw your own conclusions! Check us out, and we hope you see you, your events, and your fields on OPS-Center in the near future!

"Developed by hosts, for hosts. For the Players!"

Check us out! http://www.ops-center.net

Kind Regards,

Derek

Looks cool!

Is there a payment system involved? I noticed all the "secure server" icons in your footer, but I don't see anything in your features mentioning a method of payment processing for event hosts. Another awesome idea would be some sort of "roster widget" that might allow embedding of an iframe or other such embed code to show current rosters so users could post it to their own website to show who's signed up.

Yes! We are working on finalizing this option as we speak. We are working with a company called Event Brite, which sells electronic tickets to events. You will be able to pre pay for an airsoft game, safely and securely, and then just show up to the field with a ticket. Then its just a matter of having a rep at the door, scanning the tickets, and your automatically registered as paid, and on site. For years, hosts have been aching for a good pre pay system, and we are confident this, combined with the features of Ops-Center, will be exactly what they are looking for.

That is another great idea. Basically along the same lines as our imbedded JPEG, but just for the roster. I have made a list of updates for our current roster management set up, which I hope will be reworked very soon, ways to have a quick, alphabetic, printable list, ect. I like your idea, and I will submit that as well!

I've been wanting something like this for a while. Congrats, I definitely see it being useful.

Great to hear guys! There is an option to put your entire Team right on there, get them on the map, litterally, you will get a little team pin that can be generalized to your location!

Here are some How To and Instructional Videos that we just completed, should help explain the whole purpose and all of the little features.

Enjoy! Hope to see all of you on there.

Hey everyone!

We are nearing 500 users in only 2 months active! Anyone, anywhere can host a game on Ops-Center and link it directly to their usual discussion board thread, take all of the difficulty out of organizing a roster or posting clear rules, and focus on the heart of the game instead!

Just an update, we have been working very hard, and are just nearing the launch of our Event Ticket Module!

See you all on Ops-Center! Be sure to contact us if you have any questions, you can also like our page on Facebook!
