Well, put it this way, you PROBABLY won't use your pistol in field games unless you really want to. I think in 4 years of playing I've used it exactly once, when my battery went down + BBs decided to get into the magwell.

Also, unless you're trying to be a grenadier, you probably don't want to start with the WE Hi-Power as a backup gun. (Not having a hop-up and all.)

Switching to your pistol in some cases is faster than reloading so its a great option when your in a firefight.

I don't know about you, but I can reload faster than switching from my primary to my secondary.

ok i didnt read the thread, but this guy needs help, KWA is the leader of inovative airsoft pistols that are fun to shoot, accurate, and the second most reliable next to there plastic, low fps, tokyo mauri counterparts, kwa has a tt33, 1911 MK series, and beretta m9s, priced at (in order) 135, 165, and 150 to 175 (w or w/o rail) but a coupon will bump it down a good 12 percent.. so find a coupon which is the easiest thing (facebookfan) is one... go with kwa, there guns are reliable and my m226 is accurate to 130 feet easy at only 340ish fps.. and before you say it shoots bad, adjust the hop up!! my gun shot maybe 50 ft, took the tool and adjusted it and bam, more accurate than ANY gas co2 nbb pistol period

NOTE: while WE and KJW are good brands, theres nothing wrong with them, but theres NOTHING great about them, ANY kwa will out perform ANY kjw or we and last longer, shoot better, and feel better, spend the ettra 20 to 60 bucks and get a kwa, you will not regreat it

also no gbb mags are interchangeable with diferent bradns with few exceptions, so do not count on it at all, very rarely does it happen, also the models (m9, 1911, tt33) one doesnt perform better than the other, the kwa m9 performs just as equally to the kwa 1911 mkII, whatever feels best, and whatever has the best features for you (lanyard loop, rail, extended barrel, higher capacity magazine, color, looks, slide contruction etc etc.) is the one to get

Lukens wrote:Why the hell do you want a pistol anyways? Take your money and put it towards a nice AEG rifle. You already have a CQC gun apparently. A pistol is no good out in the field, other then for 1337 haxxors. Honestly, take your money elsewhere. Pistols are pretty useless in field games. Only use is for CQC.

So my using my KWA G17 to shoot someone under 40ft away in lieu of using my 475fps DMR was pointless?

Same day later:
Me as medic w/ pistol only, headshot from a little over 100' away. 2 shots fired.

Yeah, pistols are totally useless outdoors. *Sarcasm*

Yeah, but there are VERY limited KWA aftermarket upgrades. Top of my head, there are valves, springs/guides, and a few slide upgrades.Limited brands too. Often only for select models (Glock, USP...).

1911 builds are almost always TM based as you can make much more custom builds.

KWA=Performance OOTB, few upgrades depending on model
KJW=Generally solid performers (M9 my friend has is years old, 2 failures that were gas filling related), TM-compatible.
WE=Same as above, I find the WE 1911 hammer/slide tend to wear quickly and/or get mushy. Still fairly TM compatible, some parts proprietary.

Well yes, running a pistol for when you are inside engagement distances for DMR or Sniper is required.

Beyond that though, they are for looking cool or weapon malfunction, or acting cool. Not really for function.

Wow. So how about GBB rifles? They have the same level of "malfunction/weapon coolness" as a GBB pistol. Sure, you can argue they have more range, but isn't the AP mantra, "if you're too far, get closer"? GBB rifles are plenty combat effective given the right build. As are GBB pistols. Just because you clearly have had bad GBB experiences doesn't mean everyone else has and will.

Point being, a GBB pistol is far from useless. There are many reasons to have a pistol as a sidearm or primary, if you can't see that, well, I'm sorry, that's too bad for you.

If anything, have one to complete your "mil-sim" loadout.

I will be running a M4 carbine of some length soon, 14.5" or SR7 10" with 8 30rd mags soon. I'll also be carrying a KJW Sig P226 w/ 2x mags so if all my mags run dry, I can still hopefully "kill" one or two more bad guys before walking out.

No, that is the poor person mantra. Wait.. Yeah I guess that covers most of AP.

Yup, they exist to look cool.

This thread is very special...
But OP from what you said you can get a KWA TT-33 from airsoft gi. It is in your stated budget and it one of the models you are looking for.
Edited just a little.
