ISAF-C now taking applications!

Postby Darius137 » Sun Jun 24, 2012 6:47 pm

International Security Assistance Forces - Cascadia is now open for membership and allied nations!
ISAF-C is a coalition of allied UN nations sent to the fledgeling nation of Cascadia to help secure the country so that the world bank can lay down infrastructure for Cascadian ports at staggeringly high prices, so that the new nation owes them large sums of money. The UN will then pay itself back those debts by stripping the land of natural resources and claim on BBC and CNN that it is helping a developing nation join the global marketplace.

The coalition of the billing currently includes:
U.S.A.
Bongostan
E.R.C.S. (Not a nation but an additional N.G.O. hired by the UN to help the coalition forces, with little oversight at exorbitant prices which are deferred to Cascadia)
Germany
Poland
Denmark
U.K.
Australia

Join us now and help liberate Cascadia!

Explanation:ISAF-C is an airsoft team themed after a UN sent mission to the fictional nation of Cascadia. Our standard loadout is that of a US Army light infantry unit, and we primarily use ACUs (UCP camouflage) and Multicam. Additionally, when people want to have fun making nation-specific uniforms/loadouts/teams, they can run under the ISAF-C banner as foreign attachments.

The team is a loose coalition with no real rank or hierarchy. Whoever shows up that day or is back from respawn will be what we're working with. We do not have regular trainings or meetings, aside from the unofficial Tuesday night dollar beers (and 3 hot wings for a dollar) at the Cheerful Bullpen across from Jeld Wen field. $3 cover after 7:45, so come early, or suck it up.

Light Infantry:
Image
The main fighting force and usual attire is that of a standard light infantry soldier, slightly modified. We wear ACUs or Multicam, and because I would never force anybody to actually go out and buy UCP gear, the gear and helmets are Coyote/Tan. As an infantry unit, we are not as special as SOCOM, and uniformity is seen in the helmets and matching colored gear.

The team's primary uniforms are OCP (Multicam) and UCP (ACU). Gear worn is plate carriers with helmets.

McNair has taken up the task of finding SOPs and sources for what to wear and why for the group, which are posted here: http://www.cascadianairsoft.com/viewtop ... =90&t=1893

E.R.C.S.

Executive Risk Control Services (E.R.C.S.) is a non governmental organization that has been contracted by the UN to help with their Cascadian operations to support the greater mission of ISAF-C and the World Bank's evil overlords. They have very little oversight and the cooler you look in slacks, the better you are at winning contracts.

This team is for when civilian clothes are required for a game's camouflage scheme and Afghan/OPFOR attire is not appropriate. The team SOP is OD top, and tan gear, pants and headgear. Civilian clothes are preferred (5.11 tactical pants versus tan BDU pants), and usually they run lighter (just chest rigs and baseball caps), though if it calls for it, wearing full plates or PACA type slicks.

STRIK3 has taken charge of this faction and helps design SOPs and media coverage.

FAQ:

1) When 501 PIR (Multicam, ACUs), ERCS (Civilian PMC) or BAMF (OPFOR Afghan clothing) is not appropriate, individuals will rely on their select foreign national uniform and SOP's. All interested in starting a faction within ISAF-C are advised to work on their "Green side" camouflage first, which is usually the opposite of generic ISAF-C (501PIR, ERCS, BAMF) gear/uniform options. After they have a green side camouflage, they can work on their "brown side" camouflage and work with that instead of an ISAF-C uniform, if they want.

2) ISAF-C Infantry, ERCS and BAMF are not standalone teams. They are templates for attending games. Anybody can join or wear the uniforms and it does not limit you to being on another team. There is no central leadership and there is no leadership at all. This is just templates that a few of us airsofters are working on together, without trying to force set teams or groups into wearing SOPs or buying new gear and uniforms if they don't want to.

3) ISAF-C is also going to be used by whoever wants a base of legitimacy to host games. We will use the UN banner and host games under ISAF-C with a cadre of admins wearing UN baby blue head gear for a better feeling of reality than bright orange flagger vests. There is no "being on ISAF-C", and we welcome anybody who would like to use this as a base for hosting training events or larger games.

4) Teams outside those listed specifically here (BAMF, 501 PIR, ERCS and admin crew) are actual teams led by individuals, and can post their own SOPs and loadouts and recruitment if they'd like. They are not under any direct ISAF-C banner or leadership or control, and anybody who would like to add to those--or make new---national loadouts can do so as they wish.

So you are creating a thread for people to talk about non-SF based kit? Wouldn't it be easier to say, "Let's talk about non-SF kit here".

It is not necessarily a "talk about your foreigner loadout" thread.

The various nations do have working SOPs and as a whole are are trying to get the basic loadouts together. The forums are for organizing group buys on things like Shalwar Kamis for BAMF, and organizing the uniforms for upcoming games.

Example: Wendyland is coming up, and people are using the forums and facebook pages to plan how to get a full squad to the event in ACUs with matching kit.

Also example: Some people that are working on national loadouts are making SF-loadouts for those specific nations. The Danish impression is based on the equivalent of Danish Rangers.

and a support group for those wishing for a non-SEAL/Delta/SF/Ranger thematic loadout and help building one.

That line is what led me to believe this was a non-SF thread... Guess I misunderstood.

For organizing group buys, I suggest you make a new thread for each group buy. That way people don't have to dig through 15 pages before finding that one piece of kit they wanted.

So maybe title it something like "A place to organize large groups wearing the same kits for games".

Basically it's a parent group for small "teams" with specific milsim-esque impressions.
It began with a Polish SF unit and the Bongostan group. It's since been expanded into a US Airborne unit, a Danish SF unit(As I believe it was easier to accomplish than a Danish infantry unit or something.), a German unit, and a "PMC"style group.

I suppose some are more for the hobby of reenacting than general airsoft play since we don't often have these countries/units represented in games(Yet). But it does give the option for individuals interested in more than the every so present Ranger/SEAL/SF/SWATNINJA that everyone and their little brother is striving for.

Don't hate McNair.

Polish Delta Force is about to be super awesome. We just need the hot dog patches and the skate helmets to come in.

I'm planning to get an AK so I can run with BAMF.

POLARSTAR AK.

Then, we take the V3 Polarstar gearbox and throw it into an RPK with a drum mag.

And hope it doesn't begin shooting when the trigger isn't being pulled.

ISAF-C met with great success at Conflict Wendyland!

Here are a few pictures of our guys in action, making the ACUs look sexy:

If you're interested in joining, or playing with us, the Battlesim guys, now known as Mil Sim West (MSW) are hosting another Mil-Sim game, September 14-16th.

We are planning to go with at least a squad, and hoping for two. If this sounds like fun, PM me or post here, or start working on your kit. I've got a few sets of spare ACUs as well.
