How's Oregons customs office?

Postby SA12 » Sun Jun 24, 2012 4:00 pm

Does it go through California (hope not) or another state? or do we have an office here?

I'm just wondering how bad it is to get airsoft guns into Oregon from Hong Kong or Japan.

Hm...

Well, it depends on who you are ordering from.

I've never ordered guns from Asia, but I have imported multiple trademarked gun bits and pieces, and never had a problem. Smaller packages they don't worry too much about, but the larger massive orders of guns they do look through. Most, if not all retailers remove or put tape over the trademarks, so the package doesn't get seized. Just pray that your package isn't part of one of the random searches they do. I know that Redwolf Airsoft will not ship gas blowback rifles to the United States. They may ship pistols, but I'd need someone to confirm that.

If I can recall correctly, all of our packages go through one of the ports in Washington (Tacoma?) and they are fairly lax when it comes to things.

I don't know, I have brought mine over by private jet. One of the perks of my job. :)

What do you do? Just curious. OK aircraft technician. Stalked your profile and figured it out.

FIREARMS SMUGGLER.

I had a friend who ordered a G&P M16A2 with Colt trades or something real steel trades. they covered that shit with some stuff. and threw an orange tip on it. It probably just depends on where your shit goes, and how it travels. I've had stuff go through New York. Not gun wise, but just a Replica EOTech.

So, yeah. It can come from any port, and go through any customs office. They could check it if they feel, or not, and as it goes through customs office after office it just does what it does.

As long as they can tell it's a replica, it should be fine.

Items purchased overseas will usually go through New York, California or Alaska customs offices but I have heard about a Tacoma office as well though I've personally never had a single item routed through that facility. Usually for Oregon it's going to be California. About 98% of the time thats were my packages came through and I have ordered alot overseas. Sometimes it's been NY. I don't know the variables that control where they come through. Maybe someone out there has a intelligent explanation to give on the subject.

Thanks for the information guys, I've had a lot of things pass through the Alaska office and it's gone fine. I just feared the California office due to all the laws that they're trying to put in affect there. I guess I'll just have to wait and see how it goes when I make my next order.
