A tennis ball (59.4g being the heaviest allowed by international tennis leagues) going 32fps would be 2.81J. According to Airsoft Pacific safety rules, a bolt action must not exceed 2.8J of energy. That would be a tennis ball traveling at 21.7MPH.

Where does it say bb's only? They are measured with a .20g projectile (unless it's 8mm, then I think you can only get .27g). If Ogre wants to classify his tennis ball launcher as bolt action, then it must abide by the bolt action rule set.

Remember that we aren't measuring FPS ultimately, but impact energy at the muzzle (joules).

No, I believe he means Mach 640. It's roughly equivalent to 550 FPS with a .2 gram BB when compared to a tennis ball travelling at around 715,000 FPS
