Whoo hoo, party on ricks dime :)

I really want to go to this. Hopefully it's not super expensive. Fort Stevens will be a nice place to stay also with a camper.

Ha! If you guys have a toga party I can guaranty I will be showing up with 2 fire teams and some flash bangs...

Hopefully they got a good OP planned and they can use most of the Base for the event. Anyone know if we can camp there?

Usually when we used the south end with the MOUT site we camped in the barracks. Though, as others mentioned, if a government agency needs them, they get them, so occasionally we had to make do in the field.

The north end has some open fields that we've camped and set up big military style tents in.
Though, we also have used the barracks when using the north end, we just had deuce and a half trucks and half tracks to transport us.

The north end has more room to camp without running into it while shooting each other. The south end not so much.

If I could I'd let you guys camp out or stay at my places but it's my girls parents. I just live in they're apartment. I'll ask though for anyone that needs a place to stay.

There will be camping available, just not sure what area yet. Barracks will be used also if available. There will be military training coinciding with this event, so it may be a busy place.
I do hope that after all this discreditable shuffling we may be taken into action. It has a wonderful way of reconciling a man with himself: and with everybody else, sometimes. - 1st Lt. James Dillon

Damn. That worries me with such a large event planned....

Hope we don't get squashed into a small section of the base for the game.

The Training Areas have been selected. There is plenty of room.

Cool. Do you know if a map will be posted soon at the LC Forum? Or a discription of what area we are playing in?

It will be released in the WARNORD to registered players no later than within a couple weeks of the event date, but usually within a month of event. I will release intel as am able. Look for official updates on the forums at oplionclaws.com.

Matt wrote:It's expensive, like any vacation it's going to cost money. Either you could fly or drive to Disneyland and give Mickey Mouse a handjob, or you could go to Lion Claws. That's the way I see it. $200ish for plane ticket and $200 for a game, it's hard to find that much entertainment in a vacation for $400. Of course you can't bring the family, but who cares about them. This is "YOU" time.

As for Tradewinds, I'm going there regardless of what folks say about it. This is all speculation. I'm sort of obligated to get off my a$$ and represent AP so I'm in. If it's an amazing game, or if it's not, you'll be reading about it here on AP.

I'll be there right with you Matt. Gonna start saving now for this!

Shhhhhhh if you tell then everyone will want to join ;) and I mean everyone!

Just to show you guys who haven't seen, there is an update.

Troops,

We are moving forward with OP Tradewinds.

Chief of Staff is none other than NIKE (yeah, as in shoes/boots)'s Corporate Jet Chief Engineer, Mr. Gabriel Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald was the one who contacted me back in Aug. regarding the possibility of having NIKE on board and see if we'd be interested in bringing a series to the Pacific Northwest. We visited with Camp Rilea, and now we've been assigned a PsyOp Unit from the Army to torture, I mean, to WORK with us over Aug. 17~19, 2012 weekend.

We are working out details with Range Control and with the PsyOp unit (they are providing effects, personnel to mess with you, and simulated explosion plus combat vehicle support). Registration opens online at 12:00noon PST on June 17, 2012. Limited to 300.

VIPs are: Sgt. Igor Dobroff vs. MSG "Mad Max" Mullen (my dear friend Mr. Robison of RECONDO SCHOOL will be with his Day Job/BMW, in Hawaii...I know, poor guy...he's gonna have to suffer on beaches of Maui....lol....).

Working on uniforms and etc. No, ATACS is too expensive for majority to be able to afford them. Stay tuned.

So it looks like Darius will not be going :D

My vote would be MultiCam vs Marpat. That way, even more people have the right uniforms when I get off my a$$ and host OP Thunder Strike II.
