PLA began many years ago as a few high schoolers getting together and shooting guns. Then I went off and did Army. PLA resurfaced when I got back into airsoft with the goal of a structured milsim team. Not MILSIM in the way of wearing 110% what a certain soldier's picture on militaryphotos.net or a unit's current or past SOP, per se, but rather the fundamentals of what simulating military means. Training was the pivotal center piece of that, along with discipline and objectives and chains of command being used to employ military veterans to completely new players to win after short times working together against seasoned teams. It worked.
Then we were approached by Law Enforcement because of the outward image of military veterans training civilians in the woods in military tactics with a name like "Portland Liberation Army". We changed the name to CAG, and also had a stock split to make various teams for various things we wanted; we tried the angle of "A League of Teams. It worked for a while. We've done a lot of changes within CAG, PLA, ISAF, CLI and everything in between.
But with myself not able to properly lead due to other interests, Eudorus not wanting to, and Phoenix stepping down in preparation for a Coast Guard career, we have come to a healthy time to end the group.
Stubby will continue to lead his Sappers with R & R. Gunfighter will continue his team Task Force Reaper, DJ will have his family of Southern Comfort, and Phoenix will continue to lead the CLI.
We will keep the forums (http://www.cascadianairsoft.com) up as they are now for probably another few weeks, and will probably convert them to an open airsoft forum at some point when we are not lazy and change the header and possibly URL.
It's been a pleasure serving with you, and I've learned a lot with the weird, social experiments I've used this group for.
TROLL ON FOREVER!
