FYI Camp R&R is 15 minutes from Forest Grove Emergency Room and 30 minutes from St. V's.

This is good to know, and like I said, I have never been there before. Thanks for the clarification.

Thanks again to everybody. I do plan on heeding all stated advice in the planning of this but for now it is to much for me to process at once so i will have to update and answer the majority of questions later once I have updated everything and woven in these new safety measures and such. Jester thanks for your comments and yes i know the limits of the FD and ambulances, my grandfather being diabetic i'm accustomed to being prepared for not having medical help yet having to deal with situations while hunting. While this is far off from the responsibility of planning this event and the safety precautions i will have to put in place for this I can tell you that the area i plan on using i have spent a good amount of time hunting on since i was a kid so i know of multiple sites where we can bring an ambulance within 100 yards of an evac point and there are plenty of old logging clearcuts perfect for landing a rescue helicopter. (the decks the large cranes are parked on usually remain hardpacked flat gravel for years)

Other then this i will continue work on the planning on all of this. Keep the suggestions and constructive warnings coming i am reading everything and taking it all into consideration. As soon as i'm ready to release an updated post on the inner workings of the plan i will do so.

Thought i might add on that note that the area we will hopefully be using is about 20 minutes from tillimook if not closer.

Also steve even if you are just a herder of cats you have truly put a lot of good input into all this.

If you worry to much about getting hurt then don't go plain and simple. Safety is going to be the number one priority in the planning of this game.

yes. If you got to know me personally you would see i'm always concerned about the safety of people at events or anything i plan. I don't want anyone hurt.

Updated plan and such for 30 hr op, i know i've probably left out a few things but this will suffice for right now.

Two months ago the government of the small country of Conifera received reports of a rebel encampment in the Conifer forests that cover 99% of the country. Claiming that the Coniferan government was kidnapping citizens and forcing them into the lumber industry the rebels have decided to overturn their corrupt government once and for all. It’s an all out fight for the survival of Conifera, choose your side.

RULES:

No shooting any animals

No shooting within 150 feet of a trailhead or any public facility (state law) we will be far enough back in the forest that this shouldn’t be a problem.

No drinking while or before shooting (state law) try and stay sober i know this is a lot to ask but i don’t want this to get shut down because a forest ranger finds somebody running around the forest drunk in full gear shooting people

No pyro devices Ie. smoke grenades and the likes

No fires. this event will be in late July so it will be fire season. We don’t want to be the assholes who burned down an entire forest. It’ll be plenty warm out you won’t need a fire anyway.

No lone wolfing it: this is also a big one, I don’t want anybody thinking they’re ninja and then get lost in the process of “sneaking up on the other team” before the game starts I will set boundaries (probably about 3 square miles) and nobody is to go past that boundary.

REQUIREMENTS:

Compass and map skills are a must. no getting lost

Radios required. we will have a set channel for a command net to keep contact between camps. one team will be given even channel one team odd channels. Don’t try in find the other teams channels. In the real world they would be encrypted but we don’t have that technology so we will have to use the honor system.

Full gear: I will put a list of what i think you will need or might want, A star will be placed in front of items that are required for play.

GEAR: This is a list of everything you need.

*Your gun
*batteries for your gun and everything else
*EYEPRO must be ansi rated or metal mesh, MUST STAY ON EVEN WHILE SLEEPING so bring something with maybe an elastic strap. (if there is any ? as to the strength/effectiveness of your eyewear i will fire a single bb at them from around a foot away.) better for them to break before hand then after. must completely seal off eyes.
*flashlight
*plenty of ammo (probably no more then 5000 rnds, must be biodegradeble, if you use nonbio ammo it is considering littering)
*a map and compass
*2 deadrags
*whatever amount of food and snacks you require for at least a 30 hr period of time. maybe extra as an emergency stash, try and pack high protein high carb foods that will last a long time and give you a good amount of energy.
*at least two liters of water per day, (4 is better, it’ll be hot)
*a bit of salt (used in vietnam conflicts to fight off heat cramps)

gun charger.

sleeping bag (cot/sleeping pad if you need it)

tent (unless you wanna sleep under the stars.)

cooking utensils (tactical spork for eating and a stove for cooking.)

rope (at least 50 feet per person)

night vision (for all you diehards that can spend the $500 on it)

tarps/camo netting

mock grenades (10 foot kill radius)

entrenching tool

anything you might want, but whatever you bring you will have to carry in.

GAMEPLAY:

MILITARY:

Your primary objective is to locate the rebel base and extract the high value target an ex CIC (coniferan intel corp) agent who has begun to disapprove of the rebels actions and is willing to give up information in exchange for protection. You will have to locate the rebel base set up a perimeter around it and prepare your plan, this will require some observation by your scouts to confirm the locations of the HVT and the det positions, you will have until 0200 to extract the HVT after that the Rebel reinforcements will arrive and you will be driven away. If you succeed to extract the HVT you will then have to escort him to a rear extract site where you will be taken by truck back to your FOB (staging area) be careful though you’re fair game until you have reached the truck.

Your secondary objective is to locate and then disable the 3 main parts of the rebels war machine (an ammo factory, newly built tank factory, and storage warehouse)

Along the way your commander will be given side missions which he can choose to either attempt or discard, success will yield either intel, something to aid you in your primary missions, or both. Some of these objectives won’t be guarded and some will be heavily defended.

NOTES: this will include a lot of walking (well not really) but you will have to cover a 10 mile distance in 12 hrs while maintaining tactical discipline, you may or may not be engaged by the rebels along the way. This is supposed to be serious mil-sim so expect to have to take orders and such.

REBELS:

You will not know who the informant is. You will have to maintain some sort of defenses against assault by the military forces day and night as you will not know when they will strike. You will know of course the three sites they have to det, this however is a secondary objective for the military so they won’t lose just because they couldn’t overrun your excessive defenses. You do not have to but it is highly recommended that you send out patrols to scout for military forces and collect any resources you find laying about. (the packages the military might choose to pick up or not)

NOTES:

RESPAWN:

Military: Your respawn will be 200 yards behind your rear admins will be interlaced with everyone so these rules will be enforced.

Rebels: Your respawn will be at the back of your base. Pretty simple it will be a classic 3 man respawn but the admin in charge of your respawn will retain the right to delay respawn of rebel forces if it is deemed that it is creating the classic waves of newly spawned soldiers.

Day 1: say friday night at about 1600 hrs everyone will need to be at the staging area, we will then make sure everyone is registered as well as chronoed and all the other good stuff that will have to take place for an event such as this.

1800 hrs the Rebel forces will be trucked towards their base area while the military hike in to their RON where they will receive all neccesary intel and can choose to either well remain over night or start towards the rebel base so as to obtain more time for observation.

side missions will be presented to both sides along the way. (all day saturday)

Military will have to assault the rebel base and complete objectives by 0200 hrs sunday morning at which time the rebel reinforcements will arrive (game over)

0200-0300 will be spent taking role to make sure everyone is accounted for and if neccesary combing the woods to find them.

0300-0800 please spend this time sleeping

0800-1000 hrs will be spent cleaning up the rebel base campsite (rebels keep your trash picked up) and trucking people back to the staging area.

1000-1200 will be spent taking role again so nobody gets left in the woods.

hopefully by 1200 hrs everyone will be safely on their way back home

I am still sorting out details with state authorities so that is why this hasn’t been listed as an event yet. I am taking into consideration all the safety concerns stated earlier and am trying to have a road within 10 minutes hike of the majority of the play area. the area we will be using has been previously logged in areas so i am hoping to contact emergency services to discuss any issues with say if we need to land lifeflight. I will try to address all safety concerns but it really does boil down to the fact that yes this will be dangerous and while we will be taking every precaution to prevent injury there is always the chance with anything you do that something bad will happen so if you are too concerned about your safety then this event probably isn’t for you. Everything stated by people replying to this thread has been useful and constructive but it does come down to you saying to yourself “do i want to go have a fun time while being safe as possible” or “well if i go i’m obviously going to die because of all these terrible things that could maybe happen”

please reply to this as usual with any thoughts or concerns but mostly with whether or not you are interested in attending, what side you would like to be on, and when it would be most convenient for you to have this happen (anytime july 15th-august 20th). Also i need somebody who wants to be the commander for each force as well as somebody to be the CIC informant, PLEASE DO NOT SAY YOU WANT TO BE THE INFORMANT IN A REPLY, PM ME! This will take down the fact of “well he’s the admin playing with us and he isn’t on our team (EX. RTC, Specdet, fragistan) so that means he must be the informant!” so please somebody random who wants to do it send me a messege but do not tell anyone on your airsoft team or anything such as that. The military won’t even know who it is until a few days before.

Thanks again everybody for the input in the pulling together of this.

Looks much better, man. One issue:

Shooting the eyewear is unreasonable. You'll dent those metal mesh goggles at 1 ft., and even if your ANSI rated eye-pro survives the first pellet you're not doing it's integrity any favors. No one else has this kind of test because it's a tad too zealous.

Very excited to see this continue to come together and hopefully attend!

haha my one mistake in writing this then cause i don't remember typing that so i must have left that in on accident. nothing of the sort will be done. eyepro will be required and you will have to sleep in it (not that hard considering anybody interested should be serious enough to have good eyepro anyway)

i'm only sixteen myself, may not look it but i am. however i've hunted my entire life so i'm very comfortable in the woods. i'm not going to say no but you will have to prove to me that you will be able to handle yourself before i allow you to participate. (we can probably meet up at an event before this one)

I would be in for this. I'm a former firefighter/EMT and LEO (5 years). If safety/EMT is needed for an emergency I'm always there to help :)

alright well if you'd be comfortable taking it on would you be willing to help me in the coordinating and planning of all the safety aspects? It would be nice to have your input on the real word aspects that i not having such training might overlook.
