Discussion of GBB (gas blowback) replicas.

Tokyo Marui GBBs

Postby EnarahRovaaniik » Sun Apr 08, 2012 11:08 am

Hey guys, this is my first post in a while!

Alright, so I'm looking to get into some CQB because it sounds like fun. I was wondering if anyone has experience with TM GBB pistols. Give me your opinions, do you like them? Are they good? Give me your feed back!

As a long time user of TM pistols, they are generally very reliable and accurate out of the box, but there are some that are a little more finicky than others.

Basically, the TM P226 series, Glocks, and 1911 (Including Hi-capa) series hold up quite well all around, as does the Px4. The Five seveN is okay, but the trigger is a little strange on it and very clunky. (I also don't like the ergos of it, but that's not a TM problem.) The XD seems okay so far, but I've noticed that Firefly already released new valves and recoil spring guides to increase the blowback on it, but part of this may be that some of the TM models with heavier slides (like the Px4 and Desert Eagle) sometimes have problems cycling in low temperatures on HFC134/152. On Green gas they don't seem to have any problems.

Speaking of green gas: The M92 series I have heard tend to fracture the slide over time on green gas, but I don't have first hand experience with this. Most of the other TM pistols will run okay on green gas, but I do believe it voids the warranty to do so. At the very least it might be a good idea to put a heavier recoil spring in. I would also be a little wary of the Glock 18C on full auto on green gas. I haven't tried it myself, but it seems like it would be liable to run into some problems.

Most TM pistols are pretty good a lot of people use them as base guns and just upgrade them to the piont that there's more custom parts then not most of there pistols are plastic and expensive but they are made well and the plastic is good quality they are also kinda Eddie when compared to other brands most notable KWA but the reale cool thing about TM is thing make a ton of pistol midle no one else does like the 5-7 and the PX4 But if you are looking for a more common pistol model go KWA they are made better and are cheaper

I would actually LOVE one of the XD(m)'s because I shoot a real one in IPSC/USPSA

Where the shazaam did the periods go?!

TM pistols are all good. There are people here in the community, regular players mind you, that are rocking nearly 6 year old TM GBBs with green gas and little to no upgrades. They are tried and tested, proven longer lasting than most GBBs. The only issue is the necessary care for the o-rings. Keep them properly lubed and you'll be good for life.

Didn't know they let 12 year olds in to those things.

A 13 year old on my old team long ago used to do a bit of IPSC. But Bently is a big boy now.

Get TM.
Modularity is like creame de crop with them. KWA and KSC is very limited upgrades.

I have T.M. Replica pistols older than some of the people posting in this thread.
