SB 1315 HE IS BACK

Postby code789 » Sat Mar 17, 2012 12:42 am

http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/pub/11-12/bill/sen/sb_1301-1350/sb_1315_bill_20120223_introduced.html

the manufacture, sale, or possession of imitation firearms, as defined, and that those provisions shall preempt and be exclusive of all regulations relating to the manufacture, sale, or possession of imitation firearms, including regulations governing the manufacture, sale, or possession of BB devices and air rifles, as specified. Existing law defines "imitation firearm" to include a 'BB device' and defines a 'BB device,' for specified purposes, to include any spot marker gun

it looks like De Leon is trying to follow NJ810

this is confusing though:
(b) Notwithstanding subdivision (a), the County of Los Angeles,
and any city within the County of Los Angeles, may enact and enforce
an ordinance or resolution regulating the manufacture, sale,
possession, or use of a spot marker gun that expels a projectile
larger than 16mm.

and quoted from pyramid airsoft :
http://airsoft-guns-blog.pyramydair.com ... h-new.html
If you do a little search on the CA legislature info site, you'll see a number of bills that he's authored which are pushing (some appear successful) to impose more regulations and restrictions on gun owners of all types.

For what? Contrary to popular belief, you need an actual legal reason to sue someone. Trying to pass laws is not a lawsuit worthy offense. Especially when it is his job to try and pass laws (no matter how dumb they are).

He also swore to protect the constitution. You could (theoretically) sue for dereliction of duty and offenses against the public, class action style.

That piece of legislation is only to allow Los Angeles to enforce their own stupid regulations regarding airsoft guns and the like by removing state preemption over those restrictions. Luckily it isn't going well, even though it won't effect the rest of CA.

So, basically, this bill allows individual cities with, or the county of, LA to regulate full-sized paintball guns. Because 16mm is about 0.63 inches, and a standard paintball gun uses .68 inch balls.

Now, the smaller caliber .43 paint pellets used by RAP4 (and probably others) would be exempt from this.

Not to be a jerk, but please respond maturely on these kind of topics. People look at these and see this and say to themselves "Well no wonder they are doing this, look at how immature the player base is"

We want to send the message that when it comes to airsoft, we are mature and responsible people and this is the topic to show our responsible...ness

If you're serious you're an idiot. There is no such thing as a "mature and responsible" group of people. It's all based on others opinions, and there is no overall standard for those labels.

Yes i am serious, and an idiot. But that still doesn't change the fact that we need to show that we are responsible so that OTHERS OPINIONS may change.

If someone already has an opinion of us our words will do little to sway their view. Besides, few will even bother to research both sides of an argument. FOX/CNN are the only news source for a large amount of people and what they say is gospel to that group. Forums are the last place anyone researches for well rounded opinions and tend to either be a middle-man or fuel to their fire.

If showing responsibility changed peoples opinions on topics then gun control wouldn't be an issue. It all comes down to media.
