FBI Crackdowns

Postby LiquidSnak » Thu Mar 08, 2012 11:19 pm

Just to let everyone know, and I do take everything that I hear on the news with a grain of salt, but they mentioned the FBI cracking down on sovereigns and militias. I thought it might be a nice heads up to the community to let you know that you might want to list on your website in a nice big font that you are an airsoft team, just to avoid potential hassles.

Something tells me that they do a bit of research before they "Crackdown".

I'm sure they do, but I also have little faith in the intelligence of intelligence communities.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.... ah no, not at all. Both made the same mistake when working with them.

Seeing as PLA was investigated a while back, it's best to not push this sort of thing. Keep in mind that to the rest of the world we look like Waco Part II.

Who cares if shit is investigated?

That doesn't mean someone was found guilty.

If anything, if will make them less likely to give a shazaam now.

As a former member of the Intelligence Community, I completely agree with this statement. Not only are we over-reliant on powerpoint and Indicators, but come on, imagine a world where the government gets its news from people like me.

Anyways, after the whole PLA/CAG thing, maybe it might be a good idea to make it a little more obvious whats going on. It doesn't really hurt anything, unless you're trying to hide that you're an airsoft team, it saves them the trouble of running backgrounds on 10 people with zero connection to terrorism groups (atleast 1 of which will be prior/active/reserve military), and keeps people from dealing with the hassle of men in cheap suits hanging on the bell all day.

Do you guys have a link the the PLA/CAG thing? As for the topic.... Yeah I really want to like the pretty dreamy idea of a well run, equal oppertunity M-word, but much like communism, both look great on paper and rarely if ever produce anything but death, stupidity, and bad press.

No link. Just a slow build up of an airsoft team that was based on trolling and training (T2, distant cousin of C2).

Then leadership approached. Then they switched their names from PLA to CAG and then eventually broke into a federation of smaller teams due to lack of singular goal within the team of over 40 active members.

The important thing is that training in a uniform with organized patches, rank and the word Cascadia all over it is a bad idea, maybe.

And what did P.L.A.'s initials stand for? :p

I'd be a little irritated if I found out that the feds were "snooping around" the airsoft community. Not because they were spying, because that's their job, and we as taxpayers pay them to do it. I'd be irritated because they weren't chasing real bad guys.

Heck, I thought that the militia types drew from the segment of RS shooters who hate airsoft.
