So, these days, does ISAF stand for "I Saw A FOB", or "I Slaughter Afghan Families"? :p

FOBs are being replaced by COBs, which I believe is a Japanese word for megacity.

It now stands for "I Suck at Fighting". There's a special button on the CA radios that calls every infantry unit in a 200 mile radius asking for help every time they get attacked with their civilian pants down. 8)

Now was this for being good at your job, or because you went to a board and sang songs and answered history questions?

Now, anything that you can do without setting down that coffee cup, you go on ahead and make it happen. Anything where you gotta put that cup down, you should be finding some new private and teaching them how to do whatever it was that you were about to do, because that's a big part of being an NCO. When you die or retire, somebody else gots to be able to do all the random shit you do. If you can't find no private, find you a squared-away specialist and delegate that shit. They need to get used to seeing you tell them what to do now, when it don't matter so much, so that if you have to do it when there's guns goin' off, they're already used to you bossin' 'em around. And that's another big part of bein' an NCO, is bein' the guy folks look to when bad shit happens and they need somebody as what tells 'em where to go and who to shoot."

This is, seriously, honestly, the best single piece of guidance I have ever seen on AP. Its brilliant, and I love it.

This some of the best advice I've seen in regards to anything. Apply this everywhere, not just in your military career.

Promotion Ceremony Pictures. I suggest a very large coffee cup. I tend to have a "Boom Boom" Slushy. Afghan Energy Drink + Slush = Greatness.

Congratulations, Sergeant.

P.S. +1 to the coffee mug. And that drink sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen.

I have to pass on good advice every once in a great while, now that AP 5.0 has "ignore" lists. :p
