Sniperzden Community Warning

Postby Riddick » Fri Mar 02, 2012 5:26 pm

I received a phone call today from the owner of Sniperzden informing me that they had a situation with some airsoft "visitors" today and wanted me to be aware of it and to find out if I was apart of it. I told them I did not authorize anyone to visit.

Sparring the details you will get the jest of what happened below.

Apparently there are players that think it's okay to just go randomly visit sniperzden when they "feel" like it without any sort of permission because there is a game coming up.

Let me remind you that this is private property and only open to the public when a event is currently being held. If you want to visit or scout the field when closed you must contact me and get permission. Generally you will be denied because nothing is ever going on that you absolutely need to scout the field but if it's deemed critical to the event for someone to do so, I will seek permission and let you.

They do actively hunt squirrels and drive big farm equipment there and you are inherently putting everyone in danger by not announcing your arrival and/or by driving a high speed onsite.

Also the speed limit is 5MPH while on the property. Coming and going. Please respect the limit.

I hope whoever showed up today was very polite to Greg's mom when she stopped you.
It's this sort of crap that is going to get us kicked off the field. Please use common sense.

Honestly if this was an AP affiliated person/team, they need to be outed. That shit is not acceptable. We have a limited number of places to play, and those actions are a quick way to loose a field.

That's not upsidedown up at all. The address of SniperzDen is on several event posts, and also publicly available on their website. Most game threads don't even say anything about Sniperzden not being open to the public on regular business days. One might incorrectly assume a place called Sniperzden Paintball is a regular Paintball field open for business that you can drop in at, like Splat Action for example. It's a common mistake. Anybody hosting at Sniperzden should make sure to include this warning in your event postings from now on. How else would anybody know?

You made the mistake of giving the average person credit and assuming they had common sense.
One should always assume the opposite.

I disagree, Matt. If I decide to host a barbecue at my house and let people invite their friends I don't know, then their friends showed up unannounced a week or two before the BBQ to check out the grill and condiments I think I'd be a little bewildered too. SniperzDen is QUITE OBVIOUSLY someone's backyard. You can tell because there's a private residence out front.

Yeah Junto, but your house isn't called Junto's Paintball Palace. Your address is not published on a website bearing the name of the business. Not every game thread says Sniperz Den is open by appointment only, so I'm just saying I could see how somebody could make a mistake and there's no reason to whip out ban hammers and start getting pissed off at somebody for making a simple mistake.

We've informed our team about this situation, you won't be seeing any of my guys do something like this. Sniperzden needs to make a strong point about informing people it's private property. To assist with this if we have events going on (even if it may seem like common sense), we need to add it into the initial briefing.

I think there's big waves being made here over a small incident.

Yes - there is a website that is posted that has their address, phone number, etc. For those who don't have too much common sense or the knowledge of this community, it could be very easy for them to think they could drop in and play at SniperzDen. I don't think it was done out of any kind of malice or looking to screw the entirety of the Airsoft Pacific community over. People need to take a freakin chill pill around here.

The information is posted for our community now - but remember not every Airsoft player in this area comes to airsoftpacific.com and reads it as religiously as some people do. How can we all be held accountable for them?

More effort should be made on SniperzDen's part to advertise that it's by appointment only - for those people who aren't' familiar with our community. I'm sure there's paintball players that stop by as well. Of course we never hear the negative about them do we?
