Airsoft Wars-Rubber knifes,bayonets,etc

If someone sneeks up on me, And catches me off guard and taps me on the shoulder(not actually try to stab me with it) i would gladly respect them. But the whole tomahawk idea is cheesy and stupid.

I bring rubber training knives to almost every airsoft game I attend. Before playing, I ask the Host, or an Admin if I am allowed to use them, sometimes I may, others I may not. This question is frequently brought up during Safety Briefing before games are started. So dont be afraid to ask next time you are at one.
But MAKE SURE you ask before you bring a rubber knife out there, and only lightly tap players with it. No epic take-downs
You will also notice that knife kills are VERY rare in airsoft (unless you were snakeyes ) In all of my time, I have gotten two.

Well, there were the thousands of years of warfare with spears and throwing axes. Also, seeing as several notable military knives are balanced for throwing (such as the Fairbairn-Sykes), I bet someone at some point killed someone with one.

Still, we have guns. They're better for distance killing. Knives in airsoft are just for sillies.

I wouldn't say they're just for sillies. Outdoors, sure, they can be ridiculous (though I've been legitimately crept up on and stabbed by Kendo). Indoors and in scenario play, however, they can fill their intended role quite nicely. The only time I've gotten legit knife kills were in CQB situations where I was either out of ammo or caught in a tight spot. I was stuck in a room in Strikezone once and heard 2 guys outside the door getting ready to breach. I was right by the door and raising my weapon would have flagged my barrel in the doorway. I pulled my knife, shimmied up against the wall, and got the first guy through the door. The second one broke right and slipped my second swipe, then killed me. Intense moment.

In CQC 5, I got stabbed for failing to control a suspect properly. Morgan stabbed me a minute in to the scenario.

They have their place in immersion, but certainly not as thrown weapons and rarely outside.

As for bayonets, I know the Real Sword Type 56's folding bayonet complies with the general "can bend to touch its own base" rule, but actively stabbing with a full metal AEG is foolhardy. If I got the drop on someone, I'd still tap them, but I wouldn't rear the thing back and try and drive the spike home.

Oh come on, if you're going to mention CQC, CQC 7 with Terra First falling to one guy with a knife has to be mentioned. The main thing, though, is that in scenarios if you're out of ammo you can always just shout "muzzle tap" (or, if you're BSP, "bleeding MUZZLE TAP!").

Get a pair or get a dress. If you want to run with the big boys you should grow a thicker skin as no one will coddle you here like your mother would.
As for the the original question I see no problem with people bringing simulated blades and using them appropriately, I have never seen a knife kill myself and look at the whole thing as more of the sim side of airsoft.
