Hey everybody. Like airsoft? Like cash? Have a number of friends greater than or equal to 3? Well boy do I have just the thing for you.

The Das Hill Airsoft Field, around since september '08, is hosting its first official tournament style event. Complete with a target shooting competition, squad double elimination tournament bracket, as well as lunch and a raffle giveaway.

Best part? Every bit of the entry fees taken from this event is going straight to cash prizes for the first and second place teams of both categories (accuracy and combat.) So 4 teams of 4 are walking away with cash in pocket. Will yours be one of them?

All you need to do is find 3 of your buddies to form your tournament team, register at the event page (link below), bring a signed copy of the waiver for each player, and each player's $10 entry fee.

Team registration is open at the link below from February 9th, 2012 to March 26th, 2012. So get your team together now!

For more in depth info, just visit the link directly below. It will take you to the event page located on the Das Hill Airsoft Field website.

http://dashillfield.weebly.com/4-heads-tournament.html

After both the accuracy competition and the combat bracket are over and the cash has been handed out, we will run a force on force skirmish like our usual events just for fun.

Hope to see some great Airsoft Pacific community teams out there!

Possibly the worst idea I've ever seen for a game.

Exactly what I was thinking, I like the idea of getting more serious about winning. But unfortunately a majority of the airsoft community are a bunch of lazy douches who don't care about winning. This is only going to make people hack (as if they don't already) and end up bad.

No offense though, I see why you would want to do this!

I'm thinking they aren't asking for our thoughts on it, just posting up the game...maybe not trash them?

you add in cash prizes for games, and you will absolutely RUIN this hobby.

I don't think it will ruin the hobby. If you get enough admins on the field, it can be another facet. If you don't like tournaments or speedball, stick to the woodsball and 300 person skirmishes?

It's a new direction. Let's run with it?

i don't like tournament or speedball, and i don't ever plan to go to them. from the look of most of the responses here, neither do a good deal of AP. that being said, i don't much care for the 300 person skirmishes either. one of the reasons i rarely come out to a lot of the games these days is because i don't like the games that are going on, and i don't have the time to devote to planning/hosting one of my own. i cant change it, im not interested in participating in it, and i wont support it with my money. there is still good airsoft to be had, its just far less commonplace than it was three or four years ago.

unfortunately, there are hundreds of short timer airsofters who will be gone in a year or two that are shaping the direction the game is headed with their parents money. the hobby is shifting more and more towards the arena/speedball/competition ladder style that is now most of paintball, and that saddens me. honesty and integrity tend to go out the window when cash prizes are involved, and having enough admins to properly police it will spoil what it used to be all about. an admin for every two or three players (which is what would be needed, imo) would ruin it. cant sneak around, ruins the immersion, raises the overhead even more.

it's supposed to be about going out and having fun with your friends shooting alongside them, feeling like you are in a war movie or game, and the only penalty for dying is having to walk and wait and maybe losing some pointless objectives that don't really matter in the grand scheme.

I think it can be about different things. Different flavors for different people.

We already have "tournaments" such as the CQC series. That has competition involved, and while it's not force on force, it does help to have people not call BBs if they can get away with it.

There's no real way to make sure you're marked, so airsoft will never be as sold out (assuming that's a negative term) as paintball. But in paintball they wipe paint as well. And there's still a thriving skirmish/woodsball community out there.

I think the more people are brought into airsoft, the more possible recruits you can find who will like doing the immersive games like Alex Kaeda's Adventuring series, or DRAT's apocalyptic series.

I don't think this will affect the games you like, except provide a larger audience to possibly buy into them, and make them financially viable enough for them to be put on without a loss to the hosts.

Almost all of the events promoted through AP are good.

The Phantom Fury games, and Riddick's games are all fantastic. Hell, even the free skirms hosted by OP FTW are a lot of fun! In my opinion, airsoft in the NW is only getting better, the only exception being Warpaint's closure, and the lack of honesty among players, which *caused Sniperzden to have ammo issues.

He's a piece of history, I'm sure. :)

All I'm saying is that a lot of airsoft games are genuine and fun nowadays!

You need to list some information about this game, not just a link. Make an effort at least ;)
