Greetings from Hawaii

Postby MBRicochet » Fri Feb 10, 2012 12:48 pm

Been playing airsoft since for a few years now. I am mostly a milsim style player; as I like room and communication.

MBRicochet has been my callsign for quite some time, but I've also gone by the callsign Gunslinger. I am a massive Dark Tower fan; do ya ken?

MB stands for Maui Boy, and I earned Ricochet for two reasons.
First, because I'm normally very high energy on the field. I get stuff done. I hit corners, and take objectives.

Secondly because I shoot at lot. I have been known to be very trigger happy.. lol

I have two KWA AEGs, an SR12 with an EDGI barrel *I have both a 6.01 and 6.03*, and firefly bucking. This is my DMR gun, and I have an Gaurder SP130 spring in it. It shoots over 500fps with .20s, and I normally run Madbull .36s in it.

My second AEG is a KWA SR5. I picked this gun up for 150 bucks from a friend of mine and turned it into a grenadier gun. I got a daniel defense two piece RIS for it, and I have an M203 that I mount on it. This gun has a prommy 6.03 barrel. Very good shooter. I love this AEG.

For shells I run Madbull 204s with Co2, it has been a pain to figure these things out and keep them running because the Co2 is so hard on the seals, but I think I am starting to get a handle on it 8)

My sidearm is KWA USP .45.

For kit I run Multicam ACU style uniforme. I also have a lot of 5.11 gear and some times run a PMC load out.

I have an H harness/battlebelt rig, and it holds up to 8 mags.

My squad is called GFG which stands for "Go For Glory", but every one pernounces it "Gopher Glory." As a result the Gopher is our team "logo". We are a pretty small unit; currently consisting of only 8 players. We all run comms.

I got onto this board to recon around and see how other areas are developing our sport so we can bring new ideas to our games out here. So far it's been a lot of very good reading.

Thanks for having me around, and look forward to chatting with you fellas.

Hi! Welcome. So do you play on Maui? I've heard of groups based on Oahu but never from Maui. I'm headed that direction in June for a much needed vacation.

Airsoft is very popular out here, and it is taking over paintball very quickly on all the islands.

Since most people have to play renegade fields "illegal fields" airsoft is a lot more low profile. The guns aren't loud and you don't have obvious paint markings all over the trees.

Not to mention airsoft is a lot less expensive. Airsoft is all over Hawaii, we just are very poorly organized out here. Which is unfortunate.

If you are on Maui you'll be more then weclome. I'm sure we'll be able to find an extra AEG for you :)

Never know, we might even have our new field up. We got a 12acre property coming down the line and the operator is trying to get county approval to build a few MOUT style compounds on it. Looks like it could be really good. I know the guy who is running the effort to get this field going, and he is busting his chops on it.

Sounds cool, I hope it works out. I plan to be on Maui for a week in June. I'll shoot you a message when that trip comes nearer. Maybe if you guys already have a game or something going on while I'm there I'll stop in.

Aloha Osprey!

Don't hesitate hit me up. We have games running every weekend. Though we usually only get 15-30 people at any one time.

We used to get 80+ people every weekend back when we had an awesome field to play.

The lack of property is what is killing us out here; we just don't have to room to host big games. We have countless hundreds of airsofters on Maui, but the lack of diversity slaughters attendence numbers.
