How bout a trailer park? One could trash the old trailer's, like blast through some walls. Someone said something about maybe a island in the columbia. I believe those are owned by the govenment, they are heavily wooded with cottonwood trees and there used to be wild hogs on the islands where i grew up?

One of those island's would be a great place to play. They are usually pretty good size and you could have a beach landing like D-day or something like that. Need some boats! Or a barge! Make sure nobody drown's!

There would have to be a meeting place where everybody can launch a boat to get to the island.

They have regular games hosted at fort ord. Not in the housing sections but in a good chunk of land with two story barracks. I got the chance to play there and Had a great time. If any one is down there and has the chance it is a good game.

I tried to get something started at the old Living Enrichment Center a while back. With a little work it would be possible if someone has the time and knowledge to do it.

I contacted the city and it would take a couple permits and permission from the land owner. If both those are approved you would have to go in front of the city board (I believe it was) and pitch it to them.

That's what they said about Damish Mental Hospital but we were going to host there too. That place rocked. Too bad they wussed out at the last minute and now it's bulldozed.

Horton Pond - Blachly Oregon

Postby GH0ST » Fri Feb 03, 2012 9:52 am

Up near Triangle Lake (Hwy 30 - Coastal Range), there's an old school mill pond turned camp ground on BLM land with horse trails galore. Not your typical abandoned place as you can actually camp at designated spots, but I'm fairly certain that the camping is still free and won't go pay to camp till this summer. Lots of forest to go around, legal free camping for up to 2 weeks, fishing and swimming, plus the remnants of the old mill that was on the site and a HUGE old concrete fish ladder that's still being used but not maintained. All in all I'd say there's probably close to 30 or so square acres available for play and camping, all for free. I do know the Lane County Sheriff patrols the place as do the Forest Service, so I'm sure they'd need to be notified so they don't go all Dirty Harry on players. Beyond that, would be a totally bitchen place for capture the flag and those kind of games. There's even a local mini-market just 1 mile from the camp with gas and pretty much everything you could possibly want in the food department as well as camping stuffs and bbq whatnots.

The actual place is called Horton Pond and I'll bet that we could easily do aquatic insertions or something along those lines. Definitely food for thought.
