ATA or training resource

Postby MarksInnerDemon » Tue Jan 17, 2012 10:36 am

So can someone tell me about the part of the forum that is the Airsoft Training Academy? I have been pokeing around the net looking at training sites etc that have been dedicated to airsoft, not sure if this is a company or what, but also anyone who has found any good training resources, videos etc which we can talk about would be great. I have a bunch of stuff I have been reworking from the mil side of things for airsoft but that has been a process and a half.

ATA is Ash, myself, and a few others who occasionally offer free training events when we can fit them into our busy lives. The subforum is a private subforum for the instructors.

Ahhh ok good to know, and thanks for the reply. On that note do you guys have any open source info you wouldn't mind passing about. I know a good bit of the Army/Marine training thanks to several friends, but my ability to teach it, and actually flow training properly has been hap hazard at best.

What we've taught at the Basic Rifleman course is based on the FMs and too many years of playing airsoft. I'll PM you some of my course notes. Basically you just gotta teach the stuff thats applicable to replicas that only shoot 120ft, and soldiers that can say "fuckit" and leave at any time.

Got your info I am modifying some of the concepts, going to have to hammer others down. Supriseingly I am having a harder time with the simple stuff like body position and proper trigger control etc due to most of these guys not shooting. I am starting to wonder if this is a issue in states like NJ as well. Regardless the other items on my agenda and the other info you present has been ducks to water (ran some of it).

My goal is to pull out all my old shooting DVDs work a course like the military. Explain, Show, Instruct and have them basically go through stages. Tier3-1 of learned skills. Whatever I get done or any videos produced/found on youtube I will hand back to you guys for your needs and uses as well.

Also thanks to some of the training you have in your course has also pointed out deffinices on my own CQB enviroment. We lack fields and training areas of substantial size here so things like Peels tend to be less of a priority until we hit a big game. (We go to huge abandoned complexes here with SWAT teams etc) It will be nice to show some of this even without rifles if need be.

Eventually I am going to try to build a Hatchet Force style training setup because supriseingly these guys are very survival based in culture. Hopefully I can bring this back to the US and get people settled in as well.
