Large event down near Bend and Sisters

Postby icebullet » Sat Dec 31, 2011 8:09 pm

Evening AP, *raises a glass of ginger ale*

So, being that I'm out at Sunriver for some snowboarding, I been seeing all this untouched terrain. It's all the snow that makes it awesome. Would it be possible to hold an event down here? Make it like 2 or 3 days?

Some possible hurdles:

1. Use or ownership of land
2. Peoples driving along the side (Public safety)
3. Lodging (I'm sure most people won't camp out in the snow)
4. 'flauges (Snow BDU's?)
5. Safety of Airsofters (Tripping, Falling off cliffs, Creepers, etc.)

Any other thoughts?

Also logistics. That's hours away. And what is worth the extra drive? Nothing is built up, so it's the forest. You can get forest here, just not as dry.

I wouldnt even want to drive that far for an event/skrim, nor would I want to have to stay more than 2 days. just for a event/skrim.

There are people there already who like to Airsoft, but you could draw a decent audience from Portland and other areas if somebody were to host a major event down there and market it well.

If there was a good game hosted in Bend/Sisters, I would drive. However, since we so rarely see the type of event I prefer here, I doubt we would see it there, either.

I do hope that after all this discreditable shuffling we may be taken into action. It has a wonderful way of reconciling a man with himself: and with everybody else, sometimes. - 1st Lt. James Dillon
