Event questions,

Postby Sonic » Mon Nov 21, 2011 12:19 pm

I'm am interested in organizing an event and I am primarily curious about field "renatals" is it as easy as calling and reserving a day or two? or do you have to pay to rent the field and hope that the people who show up pay off the renatl fee?
at first I thought shooting people with BB guns was violent, cruel, and demeening to the loser.
I later found out that it is all of that and much more.

That depends on the field. some fields are completely free to use, and some, like Ivan's in silverton, are free as long as the event is free. On the other hand, some fields require a deposit and a per-head fee for use of the field. (usually because of their insurance)

Also, rentals is spelled rentals, not renatals.

Like others have said, all fields have different policies and prices. Some of the BLM/Forestry land we play on is open to the public and free to use, but you cannot charge an admission fee for attending these events. The paintball parks usually have group rates or a price per head for events.

Don't be overzealous in projecting your numbers. There's nothing worse than some kid telling a field owner he's going to have 300 people at his totally awesome game... but then only 30 people show up. Be realistic.

Silverton is a privately owned field... So unless you know the owner, then no.

Yes, the Silverton field is owned by my family. I let others host games there, but only people I know and trust.

I trust people who give me handjobs. But you can see below what I happens when I trust someone, so maybe I should be more careful.

I'll let you know when I plan on thinking on hosting a game.

To clarify I will not accept handhobs in place of knowing a person. I mean it's a nice way to get to know someone, but that's not the point.

Well I did quote him on it.

Okay I might be at the game on the 27th. We can talk about it then. I'm not planning on hosting a game anytime soon, but just in case I decided to host a game. From what I hear its hard work to host a game so I want to be sure I know the field owner, and the people of the community before I host a game.

Exactly this. If you make it to the skirmish on the 27th come introduce yourself.
