But Kramer in all his wisdom pointed out a spelling error, which is ironic in and of itself.

That's relevant, isn't it?

I wouldn't recommend going with US M81 BDU though as no one would really take you seriously for doing a Russian impression.
I would personally take someone seriously if they wore US BDU's and a chest rig with their AKS-74U and proper performance in the field before taking seriously someone with made and bought in russia stuff with an AK-74M w/GP30 & front mounted red dot optics who was fat and useless. (regretably, replace russian uniform with marpat, replace AK+grenade launcher+optic setup with 416+launcher+optics and you get a guy I had to put up with back when I first started airsofting).

then again, I am one to talk since the closest thing to a "not USA pattern" doesnt fit me.

looks like hushpuppy might find himself in the right direction if all the advice you cooler guys are giving him is used correctly.

Omg just shut up. You're like the man child that keeps getting seated with the children at thanksgiving.

So, to the OP.... I'm somewhat of the opinion of, if you can't afford to do the most important part of the loadout, the camo, you really shouldn't... That, or run solid OD or black and call it good...

Damn
I didn't even think to look on ebay.
Thats a lot cheaper than the soviet surplus site. They were wanting around 120 for pants and jacket.

Soviet Army Surplus is a shitty store. Soviet-Propaganda http://www.soviet-propaganda.com/ or the sales section on Red Alliance http://www.red-alliance.net/forum/index.php is the way to go for Russian gear purchases. eBay can be good as well.

Oh and I thought about it and I was wondering if you could post what a full Russian army loadout should look like.

Wikipedia wrote:Spetnaz GRU teams usually wear standard-issue Russian Airborne Troops uniforms, light blue VDV berets and unit patches in order to avoid identification.
For this part, go with the stuff that the Russian Specialized airsofters are guiding you to get.
Wikipedia then wrote:However, they can also wear different uniforms, for instance, they would wear the uniform of a unit which is stationed nearby, in order to blend in.
So if you happen to be playing with 30 guys in multicam, and you take your gear and wear multicam with it, you're ok.

That's a hell of a request. Russian military is so rag tag its almost impossible to list all the possible gear they use and what they use it in conjunction with.

Really your best bet would be to go on Red Alliance, browse the forums there, and see if you find a Russian impression on there you want to go with. Feel free to ask questions on there about what is the correct gear for that impression. As from my experiences, the members on there are very helpful and very knowledgeable.

Since you have the VV MVD Vityaz insignia, I'm guessing that's what your interested in, so I'll list off some of the more common items I see them use.

- AK-74M
- SPOSN Gorka
- Maska-1 Helmet
- SPOSN SMERSH AK Rig
- Fort Defender II OD/Black Body Armor
- Black Combat Boots

Ah I see. Here's my kitlist so far. I'm going for a 1st/2nd Chechen War VV MVD impression. I've been pumping all my money into my gun, so I don't have much web gear or armor.

- Custom AKM
- SPLAV Bekas Tigr BDU
- SPLAV Tigr Winter Jacket w/ Hood and Synthetic Fur Collar
- Technoavia Pilot's Uniform
- VDV Blue Telnyashka (Tank Top and Long Sleeve; Both Single Layer)
- Naval Infantry Black Telnyashka (Tank Top; Single Layer)
- Submariner Navy Blue Telnyashka (Long Sleeve; Single Layer)
- Les Undershirt (Tank Top)
- Sifra Undershirt (Tank Top)
- Sifra Underwear
- Les Patrol Cap
- Black Synthetic Ushanka
- Soviet Army OD Pilotka
- US Army Black Jumpboots (Russians have a pair of boots near identical to them)
- Soviet Army Soldier's Belt
- Soviet Officer's Belt
- Homemade RD-54 Chest Rig
- Black Leather Makarov Holster
- OD US Canteen w/ OD Pouch (Russians use them now)
- Romanian 2 Cell AK Magazine Pouch (Copy of the Russian version)
